Quoted: Quoted: Probably a FP PEQ. They're definitely better performance than the other options, but you can't buy them from a retailer or send them in for warranty work. The D2 has slaved IR/vis green lasers and an aimable LED illuminator. The 9007 has an IR laser and an aimable LED illuminator. The PEQ has slaved IR/vis lasers and an aimable/focusable laser illuminator (I believe). By mixing laser/illuminator power settings on the PEQ you can get it so you have a usable laser and illumination at any useful range, but can up the laser/illum to burn through photonic barriers if they present themselves. A laser is a LED Ummm. Pretty sure not. Lasers emit on a much narrower spectrum. Which is why you can see an IR LED as a red glow looking directly at it with a mk 1 eyeball, but not an IR laser. |

The engine is a Honeywell AGT1500, a gas turbine engine originally designed by the Lycoming Turbine Engine Division. Although it is not the first gas turbine engine to be used in a tank, it is still a rather novel design choice as most other MBTs are powered by large diesel engines. It has gained quite a bad rap over the years, but in reality the pairing of the AGT1500 and Abrams has proven to be highly successful. As a gas turbine engine it has much less moving parts compared to piston engines. In terms of power, the AGT1500 is a beast! It produces 1,500 hp and over 5,300 N-m of torque. It produces high torque at low rpms, giving the 70 ton Abrams great acceleration. One area where it is has some troubles is with fuel consumption. However, for the US military this is rather inconsequential. In service it has proven to be highly reliable and gives the Abrams excellent performance even with the governors active. |

The light from a laser is generated by a diode.
What is a LED? Light Emitting Diode |

Some scientists get butthurt and try to say that lasers are not LEDs, but, at the heart of it, they are.
They have to use circular logic in an ill fated effort to prove their point, but it doesn’t work. |

I’ll say it again. A laser is a LED. Saying something repeatedly doesn't make it true, or convince people you're right, especially when the specs don't back you up. LED vs Laser |
