I took mine up to the Alabama HTF get-together last night and there were many interested looks... and maybe a little drool. (But that could have been from the BBQ...

)

So I could get one of these lowers, add this kit (grind off the bayonet lug & pin the stock for NY compliance, of course), & have a complete rifle for around $825?

(I've never built one before & I'm looking for a flat top.)

I have no idea on the NY compliance, but you could probably get it cheaper with a Del-ton Kit

Finally got my lower on Friday from my FFL. Put it together Friday and took pics today.
I used the vice grip method but forgot how i did it before and didn't look at the pics in the sticky, so I boogered up the left side of the bolt release area I think think because I used the tips instead of the side of the jaws. Plus the CMMG roll pin was tighter than the normal pins that I have used. I sent for my Birchwood Casey Flat Black pen to touch it up.
