Same story here. Gun I received is definitely not the one pictured on the website (this one is stamped SCIG 11 on the side plate, whatever that is), but I'm still pleased for the price.

My new 65-5 is a RB so I'm not sure what I'm going to do about the grips. I wanted the SB checkered VZs.

Trigger is great on it. Action is good too. Very happy for $450.

There's some speculation over on the s&w forums.

This very nice 5-screw K-22 Masterpiece in .22 LR followed me home from a gun shop yesterday.

Nice score! Those are getting pretty hard to find, especially for non stupid money. If it's the correct box you did very well indeed.

Does that have the gold bead front sight?

The box is correct for the K-22 but there is no sticker or writing on it with the serial number of the gun. I am 99% sure it's the box the gun came in but I can't prove it.

The front sight is a regular Patridge with what looks like red nail polish on it. No bead.

Ah, it looked like it had the gold bead on it which was an option you had to pay extra for.

I've felt some rough DAs on Rugers (my employee's GP100 leaves quite a bit to be desired), but my two SP101s are really quite decent.  They're both pretty high round count guns, though.

Thanks, I've had these grips a long time. They were my go to for my 4" m19 when I carried it concealed. I like the Ahrends on the 19 now but they don't conceal as well. The VZ square butt grips are, imo, the best concealed carry square butt grips out there

Action work is affordable enough to make brand a moot point to some extent. Obviously there's going to be some bias towards one style or another for various engineering reasons, but I'm perfectly happy with both my tuned SRHs and factory Smiths. I'll send a S&W off at some point to see how good they can be though.

I don't think so, but I'm not sure.
I put a set of WC springs in it, the trigger is excellent. DA and SA.
I've only shot 38spl throug it so far, not sure if it will work with magnums. I've read the lighter springs can be an issue.

Found an immaculate model 66-3 on another forum I'm hoping I could get some ideas what kind of price range you guys thought it should be. It's a 6" barrel which is my only dislike but it's got the original s&w target grips and the owner says it's been shot less than 150rounds and set in his safe years ago. Comes with a bianchi holster as well if that matters on coming up with a ballpark estimate

So the cold front DID hit there today...

Forecast said the front would miss us in Bartow this morning. By the time I made it to Lake City at 1400, the temp was 57 and dropping. Was mid 70s when we left Polk County at 0930
