Nice. Those grips are not very good with magnums though. The other pachs are much better.

To allow for longer / heavier 350+ grain hardcast bullets, if I ever feel like it.  Not sure I ever will load monsters like that, but why not?

ETA:  If I recall correctly, I don't think he had to mill out the frame for length.  I wanted him to re-cut the forcing cone on the barrel and set the gap at less than .002.  I think he shortened the barrel slightly, and made up for it with a longer cylinder.  If you look at a standard .45 Blackhawk, the barrel sticks through the frame a bit, and the cylinder doesn't "fill" the whole frame window.  On mine, the barrel barely sticks through the frame and the cylinder fills the whole window.

Gotcha.  I'd like to go the opposite direction w/ a 9x19mm to reduce freebore and DA pull.

That's what the 625's are like, and oddly, my Model 28.  To shoot long bullets, like 160 grain Bayou roundnose bullets, I have to use .38 Special cases.  Loaded in .357 cases, they are too long.  I've put something like 30,000 175 powerfactor .38 Special loads through this old gun.  One of my favorites guns of all times.  It's a late 60s gun, that I bought as a shoebox full of parts.

Allright, I need some guidance on holsters.  I have Smith M10 4" and a 3" SP101.  What should I look at for somewhat concealed OWB carry.  I figure the M10 will be hard to hide.  I wear a 1.5" nylon belt and prefer leather pancake holsters, but I'm new to revolvers and open to suggestions.

Another option

This is a cheaper option that's actually really well made. It's just not that concealable@

Thanks!  Unfortunately it might be heading back to Ruger unless I can figure out an issue it has.  For some reason when you push on the ejector rod, the center lock pin rod pushes off to the side and binds up the front cylinder latch so you can't close the cylinder.  To fix it, you have to push in the ejector rod halfway and push the front latch back into its recess in the crane.

I'm going to tear into it a little and see if anything is obviously wrong before I call Ruger about it.  I like the gun, but this is rather disappointing.

I'd say it was a handful, but it's half a handful.  38spl is perfect in this little gem.

No freeloading. Old Colt I'm working on... if I ever get the time.

@BM-ARM-DPMS-guns

I think its okay but i don't have much to compare it to.  I wish it was deeper relief engraving but it is still nice for something different.

It looks like there may be an issue with the finish on the barrel and the grips aren't factory.
This might get the needle to move in your favor.

I like the grips myself and wouldn't go looking for a factory set to replace them.

@MoonDancer
that was a good catch they don't fully clear you can get the rounds inserted and it binds on the grip but since they are in you can twist and they drop in the cylinders. I may see what I need to do to relieve these just enough to fully clear a Speed loader at some point though Attachment Attached File

Damn pic won't rotate the correct way but hopefully this shows it

Or, instead of relieving it for speedloaders you could use a Zeta Six K-Pak or K-Clip.  I have no experience with the Clip but the Pak works well.

Those are cool I really don't use speedloaders much I just drop a couple speed strips in my pocket so that's probably why I didn't pay attention to the grips not being cut out in the first place
