after all, though prone and leaking he did keep it in his hand and raise it
Long Beach Officer Shoots Suspect After He Pulls a Gun Out of His Pocket |
Looks justified to me…
ETA: doesn’t prone mean you’re on your stomach? MF is on his back with a gun still in his hand… |
In any justified shooting there is no such thing as an unjustified anchor shot.
There was no anchor shot. He still had the gun in his hamd and was moving.
Zero fucks given. |
"Hey man, he's down, quit". I guess this was from one of the dudes he was talking to when the unit arrived.
I do not like the way people here throw around the phrase, "anchor shot". A person who is still a threat can't be anchor shot. Being down on the ground does not mean out of the fight.
They way he dropped I'm guessing a round hit the spine?
Also kind of surprised there were only 2 shots fired before the anchor shot. Normally it's mag dumps in s lot of these videos. |
Just surprised how calm the other people are. Pretty sure if LE is pulling pistols I would be vacating the area slowing with my hands up.

Too many cops giving commands. It only takes one. Because there always ends being conflicting commands. Simple concepts of contact cover, been taught for decades. And fucked up usually.

I always eat at Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles when I’m in the LBC

Never ever reach for a gun unless you plan to use it.
Calling it justified... LEOs I cave run into just ask, "if its on you, don't draw it" Good shoot |

I’m for saying put the gun down 3 times, then shoot to slide lock.
These videos are losing entertainment value with how long it takes to get to the action. |

WTF did that guy think was gonna happen?
"Oh gee, there's 2 guys with guns already trained on me, and I have this high speed pocket that I'll rip my gun out of, shoot the 2 guys before they can twitch their fingers, then casually go about my day." What a dumbass. LBC ain't exactly Small Town, USA, they're a pretty active department. I mean, shit, don't they have a gun model named after them? |
The funniest thing to me is shitlibs wanted body cameras.
I was actually in total agreement. Hey that's fair, let's see what's going on and if what you're claiming is real. (Body cams become common place) Now definitely it does catch a few cops doing the wrong thing but mostly they're just doing pretty much exactly what they should be doing |

There is no calling time out in the middle of a gun fight, no matter what the law says.
I think the cop who didn't shoot first said something like "throw it off to the side," which perp looked about to do when the other cop fired.
Should only be one cop giving orders. ETA: Nevermind. "Move off to the side." My other point stands. Contact and cover roles. |
I believe it was, the perp was still holding the gun and moving it. At that point, I would not want to give him a chance to shoot anyone.

That's shooting someone who still has a gun in their hand and is still moving. An anchor shot would be a close-range shot delivered to the CNS to ensure they're dead. That's only going to be justified in very extreme circumstances. If the cops anchor shot an active shooter because they suspect he might have the ability to trigger explosives, as an example. |
