I ordered it from here.    Mutiny Shop Patches

They are PVC with velcro backs.    You just email them the art work and boom they print and ship.. Got mine less than 2 weeks.

I selected 3 inch for the size.

Here is the artwork I used.

Or just PM me your email and I will send what I used

Yep.  Awesome thread.

This thread pretty much sums up the current conflict.  It is nothing more than 1095 with a little bit of oil thrown in to motivate the masses.

Crusades didn't work?

Mother's family came from Ireland in the 1800's. Didn't speak arabic.
Father's family came from Italy in the 1800's. Didn't speak arabic.

Both attended the Christian faith, weren't sold into slavery, their women weren't concubines or whores, and their descendants were warriors against evil.

Works for me.

The Crusades worked just fine. It was a necessary and successful war. They asked for war and we remain to visit it on them. We survived their crusade to wipe us out and now we enter into the end times.

Lighten up, memes cut both ways. Sure we don't proselytize by discussing Christianity at sword point, but never forget, that is EXACTLY how Islam does it: Convert, or die. When you are confronted with that for 400 years and you see your way of life and civilization being cut down limb from limb in front of your very eyes, you get the memo.

"People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf."

But some of you naysayers would rather the VA shred their pleas for medical care in their last months and let them die in misery. Ok. Fine. We accepted death anyway, and nobody is getting out of this alive. Better to die with honor than grovel as the sex toy of evil.

It's your choice. You're going to be judged on which it was.

Not a meme, but I don't know a better place to put this:

On the left: the red cross on white field is the symbol of Milan, the hometown of Alfa Romeo.

On the right: the symbol of one of the most important families in the history of Milan (and Italy), the Visconti family – the family that ruled Milan. There are a lot of legends about the origins of this heraldic symbol, representing a mythological animal with a human in his mouth (some believe it to be a dragon, but most likely a snake). During the time of the crusades, Otone Visconti , the founder of Visconti Family and a knight, fought against a noble Saracen knight (nomad from the Syrian Desert that bordered the Roman Empire). Otone beat the Saracen knight and, following the tradition, took the symbols the Saracen carried on his shield: a snake with a human in his mouth. At first glance, it looks like the snake is eating the human. Instead, the human is coming out of the snake a "new man," purified and renewed.

KoH
was loosely based on The Talisman, by Walter Scott.  The parts showing the Islamists as sophisticated and civilized look to be the same as in the book, with little basis in fact. The Scott Tales of the Crusades books (part of the "Waverly" series) are decent reads and were among the most-read books before WWII.  Check them out.

If you want a more factual based history of the Crusades, check out Jonathan Riley-Smith's works.  He was the acknowledged subject matter expert on the history of the Crusades.  Sadly, JRS died last month (at 78) with little acclaim in the media.

I still get pissed at the BBC and Terry Jones for that bullshit series they did on the Crusades.  Not just that they stroked Runciman and pushed his (long outdated) view of the Crusades, but that they deliberately edited interviews with historians like Jonathan Riley-Smith and Christopher Tyerman because what they were saying didn't agree with the message that the BBC and Jones wanted to air.  What they had to say about the Crusades was VERY different from the "trash Western Europe" approach of Runciman, so they were edited to seem to agree with his version.

These videos are amazing. A crusader would probably identify with the visuals if not the noises. as weird as that sounds.

their actors could only be men/

If you had these two videos on a smart phone and showed them to a prist, they would probably make you the poop inside a year. You could just tell em jesus sent you.

As proof you could make like a flame thrower or something.

I think most of them would literally crawl up in a ball and shit themselves.

I don't care about historical accuracy of the movie, but I think that the historical context in the directors cut was an amazing add for a film. It had a decent story with a good budget and lots of great fight scenes.

Don't get me wrong - I liked the movie.  I've got the 4 disc director's cut (which greatly differs from the theatric release).

But it, KoH,  was not a history lesson and I don't see it as such.  It was a fictional story in a historic setting, using fictional and historic characters, that took great dramatic license in changing events, locations, attitudes, motivations, and personalities -  all to make a good movie.  And, as an entertaining movie, it succeeds.

You might be cool but never as cool as Duke Leopold V of Austria.

" The flag has been used since in Austria since at least the year 1191.

The red and white colors in this flag are taken from a legend in which the Duke Leopold V of Austria was blood-soaked from the Battle of Ptolemais in 1191, and only a strip of white remained under his sword belt. He then chose these colors and pattern for his flag. "
