So glad this is my last “free” oil change at the dealership

Got here at 7:30, still sitting here

You need to Karen the fuck out on your service writer.

1. It's a fucking oil change. Not an engine overhaul.

2. You will remember this when you get a survey from the manufacturer.

3. Where's my fucking truck? It'll be faster if I change the oil my fucking self.

Super capable rat killing machine. The hair looks silly, but it’s actually functional for their job. The fluff on the face, ear tassels, and fluffy legs is a strategic haircut that allows the fluff to be a protective shield to keep the rats from latching onto the dog’s face, ears, and legs while the dog is ripping them to shreds. The rats get mouthfuls of fluff instead of flesh and eyes, so the dog can sling them off and remain uninjured while continuing the slaughter.

Forward grip doen't really appear mounted - it's offset.
No grip by mag well so she's faking it.
Whatever sight it is, it's OK to the user as held but not as it should be.

That rear stock is a mystery to me; but I don't keep up with trends.

Thanks.

I was offered a Great Pyrenees pup recently but turned it down.

If I got chickens, I'd want it outside to protect the chickens.  But how do I get it inside when it's snowing?  Will the dog go outside volitionally to ccheck its ward?  How do I keep it from straying off the property?  I was told that they patrol as far as the eye can see.  I can't afford to fence the place in.

They’re fine in the snow as long as they have shelter.

They’re hit or miss on being bird safe and usually won’t be without very close supervision for 2-3 years.

Without a good, secure fence, it will stray off property. They will roam for miles. It took a physical fence plus an underground fence to keep our LGD on the property, and Anatolians stray less than Pyrs.

Thanks Namaah.

I'd have to fench off an area then.  When I had labs, they wandered miles away having fun and only came home when tired.  I'm happy nobody shot them.

I could get a dog door like my brother has for in/out too.

neat bag.  I should make a small bag to go with my brother's squirrel rifle.  This buckskinning stuff is fun.  I've got a leather flap that has the Colt logo lasered on.  He'll like it.

Can you show me the backside of the beavertail flap, the inside and the back?  Is the strap one big ole piece of leather or two pieces joined by stitches or a buckle?

I should get rid of mine (and all the stuff inside it) as I don't think I'll ever get back into the muzzleloader thing.

Here's a horn & bag I made a long time ago.

Overall horn shape (not dyed)

Map showing route from Reno to San Francisco (my brother's place to mine back then). Note city's original name Yerba Buena (good herb) is shown on horn.

Part of the map in Bonanza may be seen (Lake Tahoe)
Tansel style running deer and dog in pursuit (common Tansel theme)
Attachment Attached File

Small compass in butt

Colt Rampant Pony on flap

The owner didn't want the bag stained or artificially aged.

Did you do the horn yourself from a raw horn?
I've got a finished horn that's pretty plain, kicking around doing some scrimshaw on it.
View Quote

That was started with a polished horn.  I have done raw horns (but core removed) and it's just a little more work.  A spokeshave and a furrier rasp is used to hog off the extra material.   Sanders create too much dust.

Scrimshaw is easy.  I did one at school with a nail I ground down and the soot from the acetylne torch in the benchmetal classroom.  It originally sold for $225 at a silent auction and resold for more afterward.  That one had the Sante Fe trail (with both the mountain route and desert route) on it.  Go slow as there are hard and soft spots and you want to avoid skippings.

Bolino is more artistic and I should take that up again.  That's the style where you use a needle and a series of pin pricks ot create the image.  Much harder on the hands but more aesthically appealing.
