As a reminder to folks who may be on the fence... 1. This dog is a known quantity. Unlike most dogs you may see at the shelter and visit with briefly before making a decision, he has been living and interacting with a family daily. He has proven to be social with other animals and eager to please his human caretakers. This is not a trivial point. 2. As with other SFDR placements, the support network and follow-up engagement is second to none. 3. All transportation, medical readiness and integration needs come with the dog. Truly a complete package that cannot be matched by any other rescue. 4. Finally, SFDR is not in the volume business. Dogs that are offered for adoption are a select few. They are special, unique and unlikely to be found elsewhere. It costs nothing to make an inquiry and no commitment is required or expected. Reach out to Kitties and have a pleasant chat. Talk about your concerns and desires/expectations. I have found that she has tremendous insight concerning the pairing of human and animal. This may be the dog for you, but either way, the time spent will be enjoyable and well worth the effort. Duke |

After the passing of Scooter in August, I reached out to a rescue shelter in Amelia OH, and got another Jack Russell, Joe Dirt aka Joey. Those folks had nothing but absolutely great things to say about Mark/Joker1 and subsequent good folks who have continued SFDR. Joey defends the entire apartment block btw. Good doggie!! |

He reminds me soooooo much of a dog that my wife and I saved and re-homed that I still miss. We had three dogs (one being a puppy) and just couldn't take him. If you wouldn't have claimed this cute fella I was afraid I was going to, and I shouldn't. |
