Couldn't get on a 25 yard range this week (the range with 25 yard lanes was flooded out) so I only got to shoot at 15 yards. The center target is 26 shots from my HK P2000 at 15 yards. The smaller targets are 13 shots each at 7 yards with the same gun.

Attachment Attached File

The cross on the center target is 12" wide and 14" high. I estimate the group at 9.5"

The smaller targets are 3.75" wide by 4.25" high. Worst group is about 5.5", best is about 3.5"

Obviously I realize that this is not a competition entry, just showing how bad I shoot.

Shot this today at range with @GilenusX207.  Gen 3 G19 with RMR and 150 gr Fed Syntech Ammo.  Only mods to gun are a "." connector out of a gen4 and a Gen 17 trigger bar.  Shoot the 3 groups in ~ about 2 minutes total.  Flyer (my fault) in #2 is a downer but oh well.

ETA.  This was a fun exercise. I want to try again sometime and see if I can do better

Open - Fooboy - Glock 19 Gen 3 with 3.25 MOA RMR - 9mm - Standing, unsupported with two hands - 3.875 in - 6.0 in - 5.1875 in

A question:  In the 2014 Challenge, my Les Baer Premier II had to be classified as a "Limited."  In the 2016 Challenge, my LB PII was classified as "Stock."

What should it be classified for the 2019 Challenge?

I haven't shot a group worthy of posting yet. Completely new gun, trigger system. I have mostly cured my pulling to the left, but at 25 yards, the two targets I have shot the best one only had four rounds on the paper. I'm working to get better but until I get all 5 on the paper there's no use in posting it. I did realize several things I was doing and have been working on them closer up and getting better. The 1911s I shot for the last two decades really covered up a lot of sins.

I finally got a dry day when I didn't have to be at work yesterday. Off to embarrass myself at the range.

Here's my target setup. A couple of plant stakes and part of an old box:

I brought two handguns out with me. Ruger Mark I .22 LR:

This is a Mark I pistol made in 1982. It originally belonged to my (ex) FIL, He left it to me for whatever reason. I've cleaned up most of the serious rust, and plan to make a refinishing project of it sometime Real Soon Now. It's bone stock with the exception of Pachmayr grips that were on it when I got it. I shot these strings two handed. Ammo used was Federal 38 grain copper plated hollow points. Just what I had handy.

Results:
Stock rimfire - Sprocket99- Ruger Mark I - .22 LR - two hands - group 1 (2.00") - group 2 (2.15") - group 3 (2.57")

The second gun is a Smith and Wesson Model 28 Highway Patrolman .357. I was shooting Winchester white box 130 grain .38 special ammo. Again, what I had laying around.

This is a revolver I just got a month or so ago. Serial number puts it as 1979 manufacture. It had truly horrendous laminate grips when I picked it up. I've changed those for the equally ugly, but more functional rubber Houges. Otherwise, it's completely stock. I was shooting two handed, double action.

Results:
Stock center fire - Sprocket99- Smith & Wesson Model 28 - .357 magnum [shooting .38 special] - two hands - group 1 (3.44") - group 2 (2.83") - group 3 (3.33")

Thanks for the compliment, brother. The Ruger has digested 100+ rounds a week for the last few decades. The Smith? Great sights, longer sight radius than what I usually shoot, excellent trigger pull, and pure dumb luck. DA on that revolver is significantly better than shooting my EDC Glock 19, without the snappy recoil. I've shot about 600 rounds with it since it followed me home from the store.

I was shooting two handed, double action.

edit for spelling...

Great shooting.  Those old Mk1's are really great shooters.  The 28 also.

Polymer 80 9mm with red dot. (G17) all factory Glock innards, except a Double Diamond 3.5lb connector. Took trigger pull from 6.5lb to 5 lb. Shooting two hands. First two groups Wolf steel case, third one is ZQI.

Though I have owned handguns for over 20 years, I never really got serious about learning to shoot them well until I built this gun a couple months ago. I hope to post some better groups later this year. I also have an AMT Automag2 i plan to use for stock rimfire.

Average group 6.08"

@LuckyDucky

Are you still updating scores, or am I just too stoopit to find the update?

I don't think he's updated since Molar's last post on 6/21.

I count 4 entries since then that have not been updated on the 1st page of the thread.

He may have gotten busy with more pressing stuff.

I gave this a try at 25 yards with a S&W Model 67.  Not going to even post up pictures because it was that bad.  I need some more practice on the revolver before trying accuracy at 25 yards.

Posting them still enters you in the contest. Might also get some more people to try the challenge knowing not everyone here shoots one hole groups at 100 yards, open sights, high wind...

At least tell us what your groups were.

Ok what is an acceptable target to use, I'm not interested in burning up a $35 ink cartridge.
