Looking back on it, what a strange time. Pop culture was weird to say the least, but in a simple and innocent way. Meanwhile, today's kids are growing up with luxury gay space communism. After the reckoning, can we return to those strange days?

What's even stranger is that the current "kid" generation thinks this modern chaos we're living in is normal.  While it's completely insanity to us, it's just the status quo to them.

That said, I'm sure previous generations thought the same of ours... so maybe the constant flux of change isn't all that abnormal after all.

It is what it is.  While I feel incredibly sorry that the newer generations won't know the fun nuances of our childhood, it'd be boomeresque for me to get angry about it.

These kids are pretty fucking awesome.

You know what music class was like for me? The teacher with a bob haircut, full length jean dress and big plastic glasses brought and electric guitar to class and called it 'the electronic guitar.' ELECTRONIC. She played Mary Had a Little Lamb on it and taught us that music is bad.

Koosh balls! That’s something I haven’t thought about in a long time.

Fairly equivalent to Pogs. Probably still have some of each in a box in some forgotten corner somewhere.

I never saw Labrinth until I was an adult and thought it was pretty fucking retarded then.
Never cared much for muppets and such either as a kid so doubt I would have even liked it back then.

Fucking pogs!  Haha holy crap I completely forgot about those things

Remember those rubber cap things, like a hollow half sphere?  You'd push them inside out and put em on a flat surface, they'd slowly invert itself back and pop up?  What were those things called?

I've never met anyone IRL who remembers this:

The Super Star Fox Weekend competition was held at 1500 - 2000 locations in the United States during the weekend of April 30 - May 2, 1993. The purpose of the competition was to promote the release of Star Fox, which at the time was the largest single release in video game history to that point (with some 1.7 million carts available worldwide at launch). The hype was likely deemed necessary by Nintendo to recoup the investment made in the development of the Super FX chip, which had been in development since before the SNES was even released. This cart has been known to collectors as "StarFox Super Weekend" for years, though officially this is incorrect and should be "Super Star Fox Weekend".

We spent an entire Saturday at the mall playing at all the different stores and won a ton of shit. My brother still has the jacket somewhere.

Heady days, crazy they lasted barely more than a decade

My brother and I begged our mom to take us down to Toys R Us so we could log in a score. Of cores we were nowhere near the score level for any prizes.
