A Michigan woman was killed while on African safari with her family on Aug. 5.Carol Sue Kirken, 75, "died quickly in the arms of her son Robert" while on an annual holiday with her family in Tanzania

"Past"? Really? Poor woman. To be trampled to death by a hippo, and then have her online obit read like a third grader wrote it. Her death was full of indignities all the way round.

eta...not a way I'd want to go ever, and pretty sure it was the farthest thing from her mind if she ever wondered about how she'd eventually shuffle off her mortal coil!

Indeed. The Capatick safari novels were quite clear the hippo beats all the others in temper and sheer pissed off killing. Stomping you to paste in a mudhole is their preferred method although a bite will get you with infection just as dead. They are more deadly by far than the elephant.
