Not tears of sadness, but tears of happiness.

The ending of Cinema Paradiso, where the director screens the film which Alfredo, the projectionist, left for him after he died. All the love scenes censored by the village priest for years, rescued and cut together. You have to see the whole film to understand the full import of this. Gets me every time.

the end of The Great Raid, where it switches to black & white footage of the real rescued troops making it back to the US, passing by the Golden Gate, to roaring crowds cheering them.  its a well made under rated war movie.

I got the chance a few days ago to take my Dad to the range, & spend much of the day with him.

I thank God I had the opportunity to do so, he's getting up in age, not sure how much longer we would be able to
do that.

My dad died right in front me while I was holding his hand. He was way too young. Tell your dad thanks for all that he has done for you and all the good things you remember during the time you grew up. Write him a letter if you have to. You don't know when you are going to get that call.

There is another movie that gets me misty eyed when I watch a particular scene but now I can't remember what it was.

I watched The Outpost last night for the first time. I was stunned. I cried when Carter finally got Mace to the medics, again when Carter told the shrink he didn't remember what he did,, and again at the end when they showed the pictures of the fallen.

While home alone a couple weeks ago I watched Call of the Wild and cried most of it. Don’t know why it was such an emotional day but good dogs really work me over.

I tried watching Taking Chance and didn’t get very far in before turning it off. That’ll be for another day I’m home alone.

I wont watch dog movies, and you have watch Taking Chance.

They nailed it with that movie.

Changed my whole attitude about when people thank me for my service.

I cried, I admit it.  But it was a good reason to.
