Tombstone is my choice. The cast was totally awesome. I wouldn't replace a single one.

'Blazing Saddles'.
Still can't believe I saw it in a theatre in 1975 or 76! |

The Great Escape
Where Eagles Dare They Were Expendable ... and too many more to list. Many movies should not be remade, but Hollywood can't resist the siren song of money from a sure hit from the past. ![]() |

Jaws View Quote I love Jaws and if they could get 3 actors who were good at playing the main charachters plus with cg what it is now I think it would be great. Sadly they would end of picking 3 morons who can't act and low budget the cg and screw up the whole thing. |

The Wild Bunch.
There's no possible way to make a better version, all they'll do is fuck it up. ![]() |

Some others for me:
The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly, Unforgiven, The Outlaw Josey Wales, High Plains Drifter, Kill Bill, Hang 'em High, etc. Can you guys tell I like Clint? |

99.87% of remakes suck.
Hollywood makes them because (A) they can't think of anything new, and (B) enough suckers will pay for a theater ticket so that the studios make a small profit. |

Smokey and the Bandit. View Quote Tidbit: The jumping over the ravine scene was shot on US 78 between Jasper and Birmingham, where a bridge had been burned to the ground due to a semi crash if I remember correctly, in that particular section of 4-lane highway. It took several years for the bridge to be replaced. During the bridge rebuild time, the southbound traffic was diverted to one side of the northbound lanes. My mom and I had two close friends from Birmingham that were hit head-on while traveling northbound over the remaining bridge during this time. They were elderly, and never fully recovered from their serious injuries. I know, CSB. ![]() |

Haven't seen a remake I liked yet. View Quote I've seen a few remakes there were good. Some movies just don't lend themselves to remakes because of the time period. Smokey & The Bandit come to mind. Don't see a way to remake it unless you're going to do a parody or actually set the story in the same time period. By parody I'll use CHiPs & Baywatch. Mostly serious tv drama, turned into comedy movies |

Someone start a "movies that should be remade" thread.
Where could modern Fx take something old and make it awesome? |

Anything with Nicholas Cage, Adam Sandler or Ben Stiller! Suffering through these once is more than enough.

The Bridge at Remagen
A Bridge Too Far Battle of Britain (say no to CGI) Tora! Tora! Tora! Let's not forget historical fiction. The Holy Grail. |

Should not be re-made because even if you pickled them in a 55 gallon drum of testosterone for a month, you could not find enough modern actors to recreate the manliness of the original cast. View Quote It definitely shows through...now we have Shia LaWhateverthefuckhisnameis. ![]() |

I'd say Red Dawn, but obviously that one got horribly f'd up.

The Day the Earth Stood Still--too late!
Ghostbusters--too late! Strangelove Young Frankenstein Blazing Saddles Space Balls Casablanca Zorro, the Gay Blade The Princess Bride We Were Soldiers Jaws Full Metal Jacket Black Hawk Down ETA: yes, Magnificent Seven & The Thing Meh, it's easier to say: 99.9% of them. The remake of War of the Worlds was surprising different than the 1950s version & was an acceptable difference. The Denzel Washington "Man on Fire" was way better than the first one with (I think) Peter Coyote, so they got that one better |

Unlike Spider-Man, they need to keep remaking Punisher until someone finally gets it right.
