Here's another interesting Politico article from today.

Russia investigators probe 2016 GOP platform fight

Congressional investigators have interviewed ex-Donald Trump aides and advisers including J.D. Gordon, the national security policy representative at last year’s GOP convention, about the campaign’s push to remove proposed language from the 2016 Republican platform that called for giving weapons to Ukraine.

...

Gordon, who has been a senior national security adviser or spokesman to four GOP presidential candidates since 2012, has largely escaped the harsh spotlight on some other Trump campaign officials. But while he has not been accused of wrongdoing, he has been questioned, in part, because of his role in the platform fight and his job overseeing two campaign volunteers, Carter Page and George Papadopoulos, who communicated with Russian officials or operatives last year.

...

Gordon told POLITICO in a series of exchanges that he wasn’t involved in any wrongdoing and that he wasn’t aware of any suspect activities by Manafort or other campaign officials or advisers. He said investigators were probing other people involved in pushing the platform change that the Trump campaign opposed, though he would not identify them.

"Investigators are rightly looking into whether or not crimes were committed by individuals connected to Ukraine, including possible FARA violations and other illegal activities,” Gordon wrote, referring to the Foreign Agents Registration Act. “I applaud them for conducting a thorough investigation as there are clearly two sides to the GOP Platform controversy."

Could be a quo, maybe not. See what turns up.

Fusion GPS co-owner met with Fusion GPS special occasion employee Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya before and after Trump Tower sit-down with DT Jr

The co-founder of Fusion GPS, the firm behind the unverified Trump dossier, met with a Russian lawyer before and after a key meeting she had last year with Trump’s son, Fox News has learned.

Congressional Republicans have since questioned whether that politically financed research contributed to the FBI’s investigation of Russian collusion with the Trump campaign – making Fusion’s 2016 contacts with Russian interests all the more relevant.

Fox News had learned that bank records show Fusion GPS was paid by a law firm for work on behalf of a Kremlin-linked oligarch while paying a former British spy Christopher Steele to dig up dirt on Trump through his Russian contacts.

Simpson’s presence with Veselnitskaya during this critical week in June -- together with revelations about Fusion’s simultaneous financial ties to the DNC, Clinton campaign and Russian interests -- raise new questions about the company’s role in the 2016 election.

The DNC and Clinton campaign hired Fusion in April 2016 through lawyer Marc Elias, who was general counsel for the Clinton campaign. Fusion, in turn, paid Steele $168,000 for the dossier, memos from which were shared with the FBI in the summer of 2016.

Fusion officials said last week Steele's money came from $1.02 million it received in fees and expenses from Elias' law firm Perkins Coie.?Prior to contracting with the DNC.

Over the weekend, Fusion GPS sought a new restraining order after the House panel requested additional records that could reveal if Fusion was paying media companies or reporters for planting stories.
Never trumpers will ignore this.
Needs to be on every page.   Illustrates perfectly what a load of bullshit this whole thing is.

Most of the GOP aren't anything to brag about, but most anyone would put any GOP moron head to head against the Dem morons, Mr. rhinestone cowboy, in a battle for the moron cup. That's one political event the Dems would take easy! And they wouldn't even have to spend millions on opposition research. They would win it honestly!

Sad!

If you have watched  Congressional public hearings certain government  agency witnesses  , will often say that they cannot answer  a  specific question(s)in that  public setting because of the sensitive/classified material the answer may require.

It is clear, based on your response ,that you have never had a government  agency security clearance.

I fail to see how that could be any worse then going to a street corner and asking for inputs. Most people are uninformed and their opinion is really not worth a whole lot.

However, possible "gems" or a decent point can be found in many places, though the signal to noise ratio is usually fairly terrible. Whether that is some treatise on political, social or economic theory or a comment section on some website article.

Even if every possible statement collected is complete and utter trash, working to refute, or at the least understand the sentiment behind the comments, is often a good exercise to hone one's thoughts.

Riiiiiight....

And all those leaks of classified material and not a single shred of factual hard evidence of collusion between Trump and Russia.  We were getting leaks every day, sometimes multiple times per day....for over a year, and nothing at all.  Even during the campaign, the dems and GOPe couldn't come up with a single damaging factual piece.  LULZ.

Have you held a clearance, of any sort?  Any training in clearance?  Hillary school of clearance, maybe? Anything at all?

But in the last year, 11/8/16 to today 11/8/17, he has posted 4,389 times.

Give him his due.  Think of the restraint he showed during 7 years under OBAMA. Only posting 36 times.
The character it took to accomplish that, under that administration, is remarkable!
Imagine him biting his tongue, and only posting 37 times in all those years. Out of respect.

After all he is a stated Conservative Concerned with Corruption.

Thank GOD we have the likes of him here, once again. To help shine the light on the current administration.

https://www.thedailybeast.com/the-strange-pleasure-of-seeing-carter-page-set-himself-on-fire

Legal scholars watching Page’s borderline insane interviews, reviewing his bizarre public statements and reading the wackadoodle transcripts of his testimony to congressional investigators have expressed various levels of shock. His testimony this week must have dismayed his friends in Trump world; a long, rambling, performance art piece before the House which confirmed key sections of the Steele Dossier and opened up entirely new venues for investigation.

The emerging paper trail of his forays into Russia has been amazing mosaic of comic-opera misunderstandings, grand and petty corruptions, grade-school category errors, and fundamental delusions about Putin’s kleptocracy. In short, Page is a perfect example of the ad-hoc weirdness of the Trump campaign, Trumpism’s deep, misplaced love of Putin’s Russia, and the power of magical thinking among the coterie of misfit toys Trump calls his advisors. Page is weird and wrong and in most campaigns he’d be the weirdest, wrongest dog in the pack. In Trump world, Carter Page in the middle quintile.

A bizarre fascination with Russia as an ally shaped the view of many of Trump’s foreign policy advisors like Steve Bannon, Mike Flynn, Stephen Miller, Seb Gorka and the rest of the Foreign Policy Center for Kids Who Can’t Read Good and Want To Read Good. Yes, a meaningful fraction of it is informed by an alt-rightish belief that the U.S. and Russia are white Christian allies in the global war on Islam and brown people in general, but some of it is just their natural inclination toward nationalist authoritarianism.

Page didn’t just talk the pro-Russian talk; he threw himself into the eager arms of SVR operatives. Like the rest of the Trump world, Page brought a kind of underpants Gnome theory to his bromance with Team Putin. Through some unknown alchemy, he expected to benefit Trump, and gain influence and profit from his Russia foray.

@pikie1

There's a similar pattern with a couple accounts that were posting in the now retired Never Trump thread before the election.  People joke about "CTR" Shills or Share blue but what was discovered by Wikileaks was that part of what they were doing was either taking over or buying old accounts on popular forums so as not to arouse suspicion when they started posting. It's my belief that's the situation here.  I'm not going to accuse TS or BS of not being the same person now  that created their accounts years ago.  DKProf has made it clear that won't be tolerated,  so I'm not going to do that.

EXPY37  Don't think you are giving b_Sponge the credit he deserves.
His is a legend.

His first 7 years here he only posted 36 times. Join date to 10/4/16.

But in the last year, 11/8/16 to today 11/8/17, he has posted 4,389 times.
It is clear to see that he has vastly stepped up his game!!

What could mere mortals do without members like him, to guide us?
I shudder to think.

I can’t wait to meet up with him at the range, since he goes so often.

That makes a lot of sense.  Glad I have more of a life than some guy trolling the other side’s social media.

According to multiple sources close to the matter right? Yet Jr's own twitter is saying something completely different. Amazing there were no made up multiple sources close to either Flynn. We have to gaslight and make it look like Flynn might flip to save his son.

Considering the leaks during the start of the Trump administration, why,  pray tell,  would one trust their assessment?

Is it because they didn't even try to get the DNC server and trust a third parties analysis?

Mike-It is as you say an impossible argument to contradict or overcome with evidence for reasons you mentioned.I would hope you would agree that the agencies  do have  a basis for their opinions and positions.

This.

Many of them, even one here a couple of months back, was repeating the "All 87 Of Our Security Agencies agree!" BS talking point, never mind the fact that's demonstrably false, and that the agencies in question never even laid a hand on the Dim server because they wouldn't turn it over, instead they were fed information from a third party.

That is obvious sarcasm.

I'll have to agree, his posting really raises one's eyebrows...

Very, very, STRANGE...

It's almost as if he has an agenda to influence folks against Trump!

Don't post much anymore, just read. Not worth the bother.

On the anniversary of Trumps win.
Thought I'd toss a jab at B_S.
Couldn't help myself!

One needs to stay within the COC. Where a "Protected" member is concerned!

He has an agenda, no doubt. Very easy to spot.

Junior doesn't strike me as being very swift.
