I can't believe that the T_SB_S crowd missed yesterday's sensational news that the Comey led FBI utterly failed to warn important government officials that the Russians were trying to hack the officials' email accounts (and in some cases succeeding).
This will undoubtedly lead to the special counsel investigating malfeasance by the former top managers of the FBI. Promise! |

Special counsel Robert Mueller separately is investigating Mr. Flynn’s work before he joined the White House as part of a probe into whether he improperly concealed financial ties to Turkey and to Russia, amid signs that Mr. Flynn may be working on a deal with Mr. Mueller, according to people familiar with the matter. Mr. Flynn was forced to resign in February for misleading White House officials about earlier conversations with the Russian ambassador about U.S. sanctions. |

Trump apparently feels that the investigation will be over by the end of the year / early January:

After Mueller’s indictment of former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, Trump had a number of conversations with his attorneys and asked other advisers whether he was being served well, according to one of the White House officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive matters. Cobb — who initially said he hoped the probe would have concluded by Thanksgiving — has told Trump and other White House officials that Mueller’s investigators will have completed all of their interviews within two weeks and that the special counsel’s office is no longer requesting new documents, the White House official said. Then, Trump’s legal team has suggested, Mueller’s office could write a report clearing the White House. Hanging out at Mar-a-Lago and at his South Florida golf clubs, Trump told friends, “This investigation’s going to be over with pretty soon,” adding that his attorneys, whom he praised as “brilliant,” had assured him of it, according to two people familiar with the conversations. Trump's either delusional, and/or he's receiving terrible legal advice from his team of idiot attorneys. Probably a little from Column A and a little from Column B. Personally I think Cobb's having to feed Trump a line of bullshit to keep him from doing anything too stupid regarding the investigation (firing Mueller, pardonapolooza, etc).
