Another "FBI Electronic Other Surveillance" gun guy hearing voices???!? Naw.....

Go look at articles from the last 5+ years. It's disgusting what that state has come to. That's why I don't live there anymore. FJM is a POS. Won't be long until we're one upping Kali. She just follows what they do, now she had reason to one up so that Kali can follow. |

View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: Maine is among the very best states there is to be on the run like that. Might be an exhausting hunt if he isn't found soon. Can't think of a single place that would be better. A large state that is extremely isolated and low populated in most of it outside of the few cities near the bottom, near an international border ( also low populated and rural on the other side ) , near the ocean, has a lot of back trails and rivers throughout the state, and is the densest most forested state out of the entire 50. On top of that southern Maine is only six hours from NYC, and two from Boston if he wanted to try and blend in the cities instead of the woods he wouldn't need to drive as far as other places. The only downside is the cold. Pretty sure you are describing Alaska. Alaska would be good as well but as a whole it isn't near as forested. I think I recall Alaska was 35% forested whereas Maine was over 90%. Lot of open tundra in Alaska. But I guess its so big the forested parts are just as big if not bigger then the entire state of Maine. It would work, but its a bit more isolated and harder to get to other areas if the need/desire arose. In southeast Alaska where I live, we are surrounded by the Tongass national forest, at 26,100 square miles, it’s the largest in the US. Yeah, SE AK takes the cake there. If I had to hold off a force I'd want to be there. Very steep elevation gains, very thick woods. Relatively warm too. Even somewhere close to a population center like Douglas Island. Hike to the top with an accurate suppressed rifle and wait. Just stay under top cover. Also, IR doesn’t work in a heavily forested area. Which is everywhere here. It’s a good place to be really. |

View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: There’s no way in HELL I wouldn’t have anchored that autistic weirdo right then and there. Good shooting by the guard In before the anchor shots are bad snowflakes. In my latest active shooter training we were actually taught to do anchor shots. We were told it is now state policy, put out by our Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission, that any son of a bitch that tries to kill kids in a school in Florida is not going to survive the attempt. The thinking is we will be by ourselves until law enforcement arrives so we have to make sure the attacker is dead in case there is a second attacker we have to go deal with. I don't have any issue with anchor shots. Tactically or morally. And I believe a legal argument could be made that they are necessary to ensure the threat has ended, and allow the responder to begun administering lifesaving care to the victims. That said, any training program that actively advocates in an official capacity for anchor shots is setting down a ticking bomb that's going to go off someday on them. Prosecutors change, administrations change, and the day comes that shooting bad guys is looked askance upon comes around again, and those who taught anchor shots are going to be in the legal crosshairs. "I thought he was still moving, and that the gun was still in his hand, so I shot a few more thinking he was still a lethal threat." |

Even if he thinned out...sorry, but it's not. People are dead, and the guy that shot them is still at large, but I've got to wonder. I saw someone else from that town post a few posts earlier that the time to get between the bowling alley and the bar is a bit too tight when compared to the calls coming in. Quoted: Question for those in the mental health field and apologies if it’s been asked already. I missed it. How likely is it for someone experiencing an acute mental break to have the mental facilities to plan out and implement an E&E plan that has successful up to this point? View Quote IMO, pretty unlikely. At least, unlikely to do it to the degree of competency I would expect the same person to be capable of when rational. Offhand, I can't think of any instances of a severely psychotic person committing a complex, high profile crime against innocents and then implementing an effective E&E plan. Dorner wasn't psychotic, nor was McVeigh. Severely manic subjects can implement some fairly coherent plans for a while, but since their underlying thoughts aren't rational, they'll make bad tactical choices. For instance, I had a guy suffer a break while at a casino. He drove to the airport, bought a ticket, flew across the country, rented a car, and began driving at 100-120 MPH across the state in the belief that Joe Biden's voice was in his ear, telling him he needed to go faster. Kinda like that X-Files episode with Bryan Cranston's head exploding. Only reason I caught him was that his psychosis had him buying half a dozen empty gas cans and throwing them in the trunk, but not actually putting fuel in the car. He blew past me at 30+ over the speed limit, I couldn't begin to catch up, but then he pulled over to a gas station..and pulled into the car wash bay to begin washing the inside of the car door. Turned out he'd run out of gas only a couple of seconds after passing me, but instead of getting gas wanted to wash the car door pocket. Was just luck that I caught him and got him hospitalized. He believed he had already crashed the car and died and needed to go faster...and he'd done all of this while legally CCW'ing with a permit. |
