People really pay for Internet with data limits? I had no idea this existed. It has to be a cell phone. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile Not necessarily. My folks live in podunk and can't get cable internet. Their choices are satellite or Verizon, both of which have data limits. |

Is this going how you expected OP?
I never had an allowance. My father gave me a hard time and a job, I earned everything I had. Room and board was included until I was 17 and moved out, since then I have worked my ass off. This makes me sad for you and the FSA generation you are clearly a part of. Good luck figuring life out. |

OP, fwiw, I'd just get a college job. I paid my way through my BA. You can do it too. |

Long story short: We went over our internet data limit of 250 GB already for this month. ISP will charge my dad $10 per 50GB we are over our limit. Last month it was 368GB total usage. So I'm hoping just $20 and not $30. We can upgrade our service for $20 more per month to 100 MBPS and 450GB limit.- I didn't tell my dad this yet. I'm a full time college student and I live at home with my parents, and they are nice enough to give me $100 a week spending money. So how do I go about asking my dad to upgrade the internet plan? Nicely ask if he can just take the $20 a month out of what he gives me? I think Netflix and Youtube are the main source of data overages. My girlfriend and I like to watch a lot of Netflix shows. View Quote You give your old man back $20 a month and get your big fun internet. It's best to try the big boy pants on at least. |

You have a grace period for 3 months. I'm going to try and get a business accout or switch to ATT as they aren't enforcing their data cap . For everyone talking about having internet with no caps, I did until december and they they start caping. I wouldn't worry about it, tell dad to get another job or one that pays more. Hell, put mom out there in the workforce too, she's not to good to earn a little keep.

Study more, watch less Netflix, get a job, and let your old man keep his $1.2k per month. You say to study more, but you math sucks. Kinda ironic, huh? Obviously I was talking about Jupiter-months. Of course, we all know that a Jupiter year is only 11.9 Earth years, but I figured it was close enough that such a minor rounding discrepancy wouldn't make a difference. Since that clearly isn't the case, I have changed my OP to say 1.2k per year, for you people using Earth months/years. ETA: and now I see that it's $100/week and not $100/month, like I originally read for some reason. That makes your complaints even more ridiculous, in addition to making my error even funnier. |
