Years ago I deleted any "social media" account with my name attached. I now use sock poppet accounts and a VPN, it just makes life easier. Working in LE both local and federal I learned early on just how easy it is to track some people, this will not happen to me (I hope) or there going to have to work for it.

Just a matter of time before they ask for your passwords, too, for any account they find and attribute to you.
Or they subpoena your home ISP and cell IP records. VPN protects against that. But in reality, they will not have enough resources do to a full time search for your public presence. The lack of resources may be used to slow walk any issuance and you'll be waiting years for your permit. The worst form of them doing social media research would be if they found other internet users that they attribute to you. Then they deny you for no GMC and do not give you an explanation for why you are denied. You have no way of knowing that you were denied bc they found another person with the name posting anti GMC info. F 'em. Back to the courts this will go. |
