NES was the last of the days when home games were kind of modeled off arcade games....which were designed to be very hard, and suck quarter from you all day long.
SNES got more into being able to save more often, and didn't penalize you with a hard restart when you die. |

Jack Nicklaus Golf Most broken controllers were the result of me smacking my brothers controller out of his hand when I hit a high fly ball, or during his backswing. He would pick up his controller, fail at what he was doing, then throw it at the TV or floor. When we were older it was because I was watching his screen on N64 Goldeneye |

That last one is not from the NES version, but rather from a game-breaking bug in the PC version. That jump as pictured is impossible and yes, it was literally impossible to beat the PC version without cheating. |
