Can the State be sued for all of the time and effort it's taken to simply demonstrate constitutionality? I mean, NY used millions of taxpayer dollars to draft and enact the rules in the first place, then they deprived everyone of fundamental rights, then caused millions more in time and expense to be shown that they subverted the law of the land. If subversion cost something extra for individuals and departments, they would be way more hesitant to risk it. |

As far as the NRA is concerned: The only thing IMHO that matters to them at this point is keeping up the skeer among the membership - NOT gaining new ground vis repeal of onerous laws such as the NFA. It's quite a profitable little racket for them, and is one reason why I'll never become a Life member or higher. |

This, I’m told, is normal judicial procedure, but they stayed it until the trial making the TRO pointless. Thus far, the 2nd circuit has done nothing in regards to reviewing the TRO. Stay struck? Meanwhile I think Nolo's stay of NY's everywhere ban of guns was struck by an appellate court and NY is back to banning possession of firearms outside your home. I've been practicing running in circles and screeching in a high pitched voice while waving my flippers over my head. At least murderous police officers can still legally carry. Can anyone confirm this? |
