I TRY so hard to like NPR. But it's impossible.

EVERYTHING is about gays and racism or Muslims.

A coworker and I would make bets about how they were going to twist a completely unrelated story into something about racism.

There was some woman doing a history of tap dancing, and sure as shit apparently tap dancing is racist. A couple days ago there was something about iconic pink donut boxes from Los Angeles, and our local affiliate had a story about black people making the best donuts and how white people tried to keep them out of the donut business.

My favorite was a completely innocuous piece about a guy who wrote a "cooking on a budget" book. By the end of it... guess what? His black grandmother wasn't allowed to eat at white restaurants or work, so she had to develop these recipes! Blah blah blah. Shut the fuck up.

Well, if you were wondering about how the baseball practice shooting would play out; they had Mark Kelly on this morning also talking about how we need to stop new "bad laws" in order to make people safer. Bad laws being national reciprocity and the HPA.

They're getting the word out to their people.

I found the best birthday card ever a couple years back and sent it to a buddy. The cover had some metrosexual saying DID YOU HEAR WHAT THEY SAID ON NPR?!? Inside the card said OF COURSE YOU DIDN'T. THAT'S WHY WE'RE FRIENDS

I learned recently that if you don't match the ethnicity of the restaurant you own, you are racist(cultural appropriation) and you MUST be put out of business. Especially anyone of European descent since that race has an economic advantage. So no taco truck for me.

Amen. It used to be entertaining when it had silly quiz shows, car talk, and piano jazz on Sunday mornings. I listened to NPR and read the Washington Post years ago to know what the enemy was thinking, but it reached a point of not being able to take the stupid anymore and i had to stop.

I answered the phones on a fund raising drive for a local NPR station when I was in high school

I did royally fuck a NPR station out of a ton of money in a civil suit once though, maybe that balances out

That enemy is well known already. All the knowledge in the world is meaningless if you don't something with it. Continuing to listen to them just promotes their ratings and increases their revenue at this point. Write the station, tell them you not going to listen anymore, and turn it off. Also go on Facebook and every other social media site describing what you are doing and why. That will have a lot more effect than doing nothing.
