Quoted: To those Reform candidates, I would also add Rick Ector. So how about the Bylaw Amendment, Y or N? Quoted: Quoted: 4 votes and 4 votes only, Vasily. Judge Phil Journey Rocky Marshall Dennis Fusaro Jeff Knox So how about the Bylaw Amendment, Y or N? I haven't looked at the ballot yet but I'd add Kim Rhode is she running. She's an Olympic Trap and Skeet winner. She has our interest at heart. |

Quoted: A couple of years ago I wrote a letter to Wayne LaPierre asking for his resignation. The NRA I became a life member of no longer existed. I fondly remember my grandfather's American Rifleman magazines and wanted to continue the tradition. Wayne LaPiere fucked us all. I sincerely hope the NRA can be saved, reborn as a legitimate and reputable organization. @skippycoop hate to break it you but the NRA of Negotiating rights away fame is very much with us. |

Quoted: On the up side, this was good. https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/12621/2024-02-21_11_48_28-3136516.jpg Can I get a hi def pic of that? I want to get some custom toilet paper made. |

Quoted: I'm not 100% sure but I think so. I know the idea is to clean house but I truly believe she is one of the few good ones. Quoted: Quoted: Is she on the Board now? I'm not 100% sure but I think so. I know the idea is to clean house but I truly believe she is one of the few good ones. You need to quantify that statement. HOW is she one of the good ones on the board that let Wayne buy suit after suit? What has she done to stop Wayne & his cohorts? Otherwise, out she goes w/ the bathwater. |
|
Quoted: My standard guide for voting for board members since the Neil Knox days in the 80s is to vote against everybody the Board recommends. |

Interesting note from his article- only about 5% of mailed ballots get returned as votes. So the vote of each of us who do vote has a disproportionate weight. So if you are a member, or if you see any NRA mags around anywhere with the ballot inside, please vote for the 4 reform candidates, and only for them. If you vote only for them, it strengthens your vote by not also giving any votes to their opponents. |
|
Quoted: Not another dime or vote for the NRA. Send your money to SAF or FPC, OP. Life Member and they won’t get another dime from me. But I do have a vote, which collectively, can be more powerful than money sent in. Which is the reason why I’m asking. I’m already a member of FPC and SAF. |

Quoted: They are still the Anti-Gunners lightning rod. Let them catch all of the flack and attention while GOA and the other groups do the needful in the background. I find this amusing also. The liberal media still uses the NRA as their go to. Let's hope they don't catch on for a few years. |

The "Bylaw" change looks like it would be a positive for everyone. It creates a new position of "Chief Compliance Officer", selected by the board. This officer is at the board level and can attend Board Meetings and Executive Committee meetings and make reports as to the compliance of the NRA in regard to applicable laws and regulatory requirements. This Officer can NOT be fired by the Executive Vice President (Wayne Pierre's former position), the only NRA employee who can only be fired by vote of the entire Board. So they are recognizing that the shit that Wayne pulled violated a lot of laws and regulations and now want a formal employee position to monitor when the NRA violates any laws and regulations, these would be reported to the board when such violations happen. The board still would need to put a stop to anything reported by the Compliance Officer, the Compliance Officer won't have the power to stop contracts from being signed etc. This position would be at the same level as the Executive Vice President and could only be fired by the Board. Only bad thing about this is that you could possibly get a hell of a dogfight at the very top of NRA control between the Compliance Officer and the Executive Vice President. Executive Vice President still has the power to gut any employee organization that the Compliance Officer can setup by firing all of them; the Compliance Officer can go to the board and recommend that the Executive Vice President is violating the law and needs to be fired, true or not. The Board would need to settle any disputes between these two officers. |

I'm an old life member and will NOT bother to ever vote again in this farce. I don't care if it's Ted Nugent, Charlton Heston, or Oliver North up for election!!! . It's a meaningless pony show of a fraud until EVERYBODY on the board from the top down including "executive vice presidents" (as was LaPierre the exec vice pres) are part of the election process. |
|

Judge Phil Journey Rocky Marshall Dennis Fusaro Jeff Knox So how about the Bylaw Amendment, Y or N? Thanks, guys. The signal-to-noise ratio of GD really gets old. I'm a yes on the amendment. It appears to curtail the power of the Executive VP to interfere with the Chief Compliance Officer, and it defines what that officer's duties are. |

Wayne owes us $4 million. https://apnews.com/article/nra-wayne-lapierre-trial-ruling-d4d9b950ee2cbd63380826eb2bf210e6 NEW YORK (AP) — The longtime head of the National Rifle Association, Wayne LaPierre, misspent millions of dollars of the organization’s money, using the funds to pay for an extravagant lifestyle that included exotic getaways and trips on private planes and superyachts, a New York jury determined Friday. The jury found LaPierre, 74, must repay almost $4.4 million to the powerful gun rights group that he led for three decades, while the NRA’s retired finance chief, Wilson Phillips, owes $2 million. Jurors also found that the NRA failed to properly manage its assets, omitted or misrepresented information in its tax filings and violated whistleblower protections under New York law. Cheers to @ButchA61 for the link. |

Quoted: You sir, have already surrendered. Two quotes come to mind. "We need neither your counsel or your arms." "I have not yet begun to fight." Quoted: Quoted: I threw my ballot in the recycling pail. My recommendation is that you do the sane. You sir, have already surrendered. Two quotes come to mind. "We need neither your counsel or your arms." "I have not yet begun to fight." Bullshit I voted in every election, over the last almost 20 years, and to what end? Where was the NRA after SAFE? And where were the other 95 million gun owners who didn’t belong to any org? And who still don’t? The NRA is about to draw its death rattle. |

Quoted: Negative @backbencher . . . Jeff Knox says we need to vote FOR the amendment that "requires a vote of the membership to create a new officer position". Jeff's Blog - from the TheFirearmsCoalition.com Quoted: Quoted: https://www.ar15.com/forums/t_1_156/2700739_With-Wayne-gone-do-we-have-a-shot-at-getting-one-of-our-own-on-the-board-.html Given the corrupt board is presenting the amendment to the bylaws, I presume we should vote against that as well? Jeff's Blog - from the TheFirearmsCoalition.com JEFF'S BLOG - NRA ELECTIONS FEBRUARY 6, 2024 JEFF KNOX UPDATE: Vote YES on the Bylaw proposal. The Bylaws require a vote of the membership to create a new officer position, and this is one that needs to happen. — Jeff Thanks for this. |
| The Brady bunch and the Mad Mommies are crowing in their propaganda e-mails today that they "Took down the NRA" with this ruling. Isn't this closer to the director of MADD getting busted for DUI? Do they think the organization will fold its tent and go away now? The naysayers may scoff but what if this reawakens the Sleeping Giant the Anti's fear? |

They have given me nothing. In my opinion, anyone who continues to support them is a delusional simpleton and cutesy Cut and Paste responses will do nothing to change my opinion or actions. |

Quoted: 4 votes and 4 votes only, Vasily. Judge Phil Journey Rocky Marshall Dennis Fusaro Jeff Knox @MitchbSC Thanks! As a life member of this current dumpster fire of an organization, I was tempted to just toss this one out. Instead I'll help try to rebuild it with a vote, as that beats just sitting on the sidelines and crying about it. I got my life membership years ago from HERE, at arf of all places. I'm also a GOA member, and while they get the majority of my $$, I'll just have to hope for better. |

Quoted: Wayne owes us $4 million. CNN reported that WLP was given a $17M "post employment contract." If true, he is still on NRA's payroll for $13M. The first time in my life I engaged a BOD member was in person in Indianapolis when Ollie North was ousted and the Cat Lady shut down Member's Meeting. I learned at that time that she gets a stipend from from the NRA, and the Florida Sportsmans Assoc (or whatever org she had been President of) ALSO got an equal, special stipend. My BOD member was unable to answer why she received special treatment. He is no longer on the BOD. Yesterday I reached out to two BOD from my state (one of which is up for reelection) and intend to ask WHY WLP was given this exorbitant gift after screwing us. I think the Bylaw Change creating the new executive position is good. Since that person would NOT be beholden to the EVP, it creates a "check/ balance" to the power wielded by that position. |
|
Quoted: Any more opinions on the proposed bylaw change? I see that it's unanimously recommended by the Board, which instantly makes me want to vote "No", but I want to be a little more impartial before I actually vote on that one. I think the board is trying to get sufficient change in governance structure to prevent a Special Master being appointed by the judge. It probably is good for the members; but may not be enough. It looks good to me as a step; but with much more to be done. |
