For the record.... bought it because you can supercharge the V8. The new 2022's are all V6's.

Why not get a Lightning or something along those lines?

Just got a used Tundra 2020 TRD Pro with 18" wheels. The current tires suck and love to spin, even on dry roads. Looking for the best performance on street/pavement.  Willing to upgrade to 20" wheels if needed. This truck will most likely get a supercharger. Which is why pavement traction and performance is the priority, and we want it to handle more like our sportier cars.

Coming from performance cars/SUVs was looking at Continental DWS06's but they don't come in truck flavors.

The Michelin Defender LTX M/S is the balanced highway all season you are looking for that can handle forest service roads...Beware - they are pricey and are hit and miss on supply right now.

An excellent all terrain alternative is the Cooper Discoverer AT3S or Continental TerrainContact H/T. Both are quiet, but the Continentals are middling in snow. The Coopers are 3PMSF but are NOT a snow tire.

If snow traction is a concern, go Cooper or Michelin

Why you should listen to me - I have all of these tires on vehicles and have experience with them in snow, on road and off road (not mudding or crawling rocks, but on sandy, rocky forest service wash outs in AWD vehicles)

I run Cooper Discoverer AT3's on my 2012 Tundra CrewMax.

285/60R20's on Method Grid 20x9's.

Have a 3/1 lift with Coachbuilder 3" shackles, carrier bearing drop kit, 2 spacers in the left front to correct the lean, Bilstein 5160s in the rear, and 6112's up front.

Had to trim the front body mounts, got some plates from SoCal Offroad to fit that area, and had my shop weld them in.

The tires in this picture are 295/65R20 Nitto Ridge Grapplers. They're about 12 pounds per tire heavier than the Coopers, and have a much stiffer compound. Plus, the truck barely cleared the garage opening with them.

Very great street performance, ride, and longevity, I recommend Michelin LTX A/T2. I have had them on everything from 1/2 tons to 1 tons and they have been awesome!

You’re going to need to go to 20’s to get a street performance tire that will fit. There isn’t really anything that will handle well in the stock size.

I think it’s technically Stu’s brodozer. Ryan is just the chauffeur.

Just to dissappoint...

I went to the tire shop 200ft from our business. They treat us well, so we like to give them business. If they had either the Continental terrain contacts or Michelin defenders in stock I was going with those... if not, tire rack had 20" wheels and 20" continentals instock...

Unfortunately the local place can't get Continental tires to save their lives, but could have the Michelin defenders tomorrow.... so 18" Defenders it is.

I think there was some racer who said the ideal rim size is the smallest one you can fit around the braked.

Out of curiosity, what are the tires that are currently on the pickup?

18" defenders are the best choice anyway so congrats.
