I can tell you from experience that LOUD Mexican Dancing Music played on a loop 24/7 at 79.5 db will bring the shit bag to the table for negotiation. Our county had rules stating anything above 80 db was not allowed. I had a $2K device against the plastic db meter the cops carried. Pretty clear case. Guy was a judge. Fuck him.

Neighbors yapping mutts are let out around 7am every morning. They bark nonstop for at least 1 hour straight.

I say record the barking and play it back to them...on repeat.
I feel your pain. I've lived in apartments, townhome and even a house with a big backyard - where unless you go rural or semi-rural (but even they have asshole dog owners), it's hard for your average person to put distance between them and noisy neighbors. That being said, if the dog whistle and/or noise deterrent is a thing, do that. Cuz unless you try to sue them civilly - good luck with getting a HOA, cops, code, etc. to enforce shit. |

For the OP.
An ultrasonic bark stopper is the way to go, but depending on how far away they are you may need to homebrew up something better. There are some people on YouTube who have built devices that may work. Many of the commercial ones are not that good unless the dog is close by. Non-trashy people do not allow their dogs to bark to the point of annoying others; And if you think it's OK to have a barking dog then you're probably a trashy person. |

Been in the same house for 27 years. The whole time the neighbors behind me have had five dogs that will bark for hours if a leaf falls or a cricket twitches.
They can't be the same dogs in all that time but they sure look the same. It's like they replace a dog with an exact copy when one dies. Most of the neighbors like pets and have dogs so we have been very tolerant of them, but when they go on for hours, I just walk outside and shout "shut the fuck up." They won't make the dogs quiet down but at least they put them in the basement so that it muffles the dogs enough to keep them from bothering the neighbors. I have spent 27 years telling people that move into the neighborhood that the Barkers live in that house even though that's not their real name. The Barkers are not sociable so no one knows otherwise. It's my legacy to the hood. |

Have a similar problem with new neighbors that moved in a few months ago. Their two dogs bark at almost anything they see from their back yard.
 Recently they put up a privacy fence around their back yard and it does muffle the barking some. Have considered getting a bark controller similar to the one advertised in this thread.

OP there is a real, nonviolent, science-based solution. Get a dog of your own of the exact same type, but face it the opposite direction. This will invert the phase of the barking and cancel the sound out. You will SEE two dogs barking but you will HEAR none.
