Probably not as bad as Rob Zombies remake of the Munsters.
It's supposed to be bad ... because it's bad. I'll give it and The Addams family a try. People pay way more attention to "woke" than I do. The whole world is woke. If it's shit because of it, I don't watch. If it's funny and they voted for Biden, I do. |

Woke to me typically means at bare minimum one gender swapped character, one race swapped character, one or more gay characters (that get extended screen time of them getting it on with other gay characters), and none of the above can be the SAME character.
I will say this though, Luis Guzman is one galactically ugly man. |

I think Antonio bandaris should have played gomez. Could have also filmed zoro 2

The Gomez casting matches the comic version. He's sort an oddball putz marrying way out of his league with Morticia but they get along because she is also an oddball putz. The prior TV (John Astin) and movie (Raul Julia) Gomez made him more of a sophisticated handsome type husband.

Meh looks like good casting to me. It may end up woke because Netflix sucks.

Guzman looks way out of place as Gomez (because I've only seen the films), but the comic character definitely looks like him. Hoping for the best, expecting the worst.

Quoted: In the original cartoon (which the TV show was based on), apparently he "had a somewhat grotesque appearance, with a tubby body, a snub-nose, a crooked tooth and a receding chin." So this Gomez seems to be MORE consistent with the original source material, and the original TV show was the one that departed hugely from the cartoon by making him suave and somewhat attractive. Why'd they have a 19 year old play a child? Also Gomez is fucking ugly.

It actually looks well casted. Hell they are willing admitting Morticia and Gomez are a married couple and man and a woman... that is anti-woke and will probably illicit protests and outrage.

Say what you will about this but the fact remains there is no love more pure than the love between Morticia and Gomez.

If they’re going all hispanic, should have used Michael Peña as Gomez. That guy is funny as hell.
Shave Guzmán down and make him Fester. Guzmán is a trog. |
