Let me fix the thread that was posted a bit ago.
A new level of confrontational escalation seems to be appearing against My wife has seen it multiple times in the last week at her place of employ (retail) We've seen the couple who was followed and acosted at the chipotle. We've seen several cases of assault, and borderline assault, and intimidation attempts. We've seen doxxing and cancel culture-ism. They are emboldened now. The question is, short of lethal, how do you respond? I'm thinking very seriously of adding less than lethal to my daily carry of BSL. (bright, sharp, lethal). Every day I carry something bright, something sharp, and something lethal (handgun). I'm thinking of adding the nastiest non lethal deterrent I can carry in an EDC manner to hose the face of whoever tries this sort of aggressive behavior on me. The problem with a lot of us, I think is there is a leap from zero to lethal we aren't used to filling because we MYOB. The problem now is, people who feel racially wronged are getting super aggressive and confrontational with white people, for the crime of being white and nearby. It's prudent to discuss this current situation, and think about it. |

I don't speak to or engage with strangers. Period. If someone wants to follow or harass me then I'm prepared with my cell phone (video recording) and CCW if it comes to that.

View Quote The chipotle couple didn't speak or engage beyond reason. Someone got accidentally bumped, and someone said "excuse you" or "excuse me". That resulted in the black pair turning around, following the white couple out, trying to corner them, and beating on their vehicle and trying to block their way. They got charged, and fired for producing CCW. Would a face full of pepper spray or something more potent have gone differently? |

I was told today that you old white dudes just dig your heals in and dont budge.
I just smiled back and nodded... |

The correct response is to provoke them. The best way is to simply start laughing at them as they get more and more worked up.
However you will be physically assaulted. Be prepared. Press charges. Everyone has to press charges, that is the key. Also go to the emergency room. You were the victim of a violent assault. You need to use the same system against them that they are trying to use against you. |

In most states pepper spray is not a dangerous or deadly weapon.

I haven't seen any threats against white people around here.
After the COVID lockdown became a thing, one of my girlfriend's friends became a target of some nasty comments at Walmart. Her friends are Asian. |

Remain calm
Don’t engage any more than necessary. Record with your phone everything and call the police immediately before anything even gets going. After that, I guess who knows. I have my own game plan but no one knows what they will do until it happens. There is no way to prepare. I won’t be kneeling, I’ll tell you that. |

I don't experience any of this. But then, I make it a point to never live or work in diverse areas. Served me well over the last 40 years.
The most diversity I experience in my life is at the VA. For some reason, everyone gets along just fine there. |
|
Not sure if I can record video and ALSO call 911 from my phone, but I doubt it.
I'm sure they will have their phones out recording, so it might be best to just call 911. My plan is to say nothing and unass the area. I'm starting to think it's a bad idea to get in your car though. Can't drive away because they will just get in front of you and say you tried to run them over. I might just start walking and see how far they follow me. |

I asked this question, or a version of it , a few years ago. Due to my age and the doctrine of "disparity of force" I'm going to go about my business as usual. I've already had a "touch" of this violence or the threat of it. Going forward my threshold will surely drop in terms of using deadly force. There are MORE than enough publicly available videos showing WHY I should be GREATLY CONCERNED for my safety when around unknown groups or individuals that are not of my race. It has been in/on the news or the internet almost non-stop on a daily basis for a long time now. Old people getting sucker punched by blacks. Kids getting sucker punched by blacks. Churches being invaded by blacks. I could go on and on.
We have seen as well the attempted violence by blacks against whites while in their vehicles also. MANY videos are out there. Black LAWYERS fire bombing cop cars. This stuff is going to get worse and worse. Hell the blacks are killing their kids in random shootings in major cities. At this point I'm pretty confident that a jury would be a better bet than calling the cops. |
|
I don't see this where I'm at, but not saying it couldn't happen elsewhere I go. I have always kept to myself and always polite. If someone wants to intentionally fuck with me I would rather use my phone and video them than anything else. They lay a hand on me all bets are off, I am not getting assaulted just so I can press charges. I have noticed people are getting generally more rude as the the rice rabies lock down continues, a lot of stress on people from a lot of directions now.

my home location, the jury will be friendly.
My work location, it will not. I'd rather deal with OC'ing someone than have a brandishing charge. Also, it's hard to dig out a phone and start recording when you're surrounded by 2-3 or more people. |

There was a pepper spray thread a while back. It encouraged me to get some Sabre Red. I ended up with this:
Sabre Red Gel Crossfire MK2 |

For years, I've had dash cams in every vehicle, but just a few days ago, I picked up a cheap body camera to wear when I'm out of the vehicle.
I've been experimenting around the house with it, trying to figure out the best way to wear it without being obvious. I intend on minding my own business, but I want a/v of everywhere I go, and anything that may happen. If you rely solely on your cell phone, you may be too late to record what led up to whatever fiasco you find yourself in. Also, you may not physically be able to use your cell phone. It's hard to hold the phone correctly when your using your hands to defend yourself. I'm probably over doing it, but it's cheap peace of mind, so I do it anyway. |

I've considered picking up a taser to go along with my EDC. I've been on the receiving end of a very light encounter recently. If I would have cut loose with spray I would have contaminated an entire restaurant.

What body cam did you get and how satisfied are you with it? It's a cheap Magnavox that I got on clearance at Walmart. It's actually sold as a dash cam, but has a clip that can be used to attach it to your shirt, cap, etc. I don't like it all. The picture quality is poor and I'm having trouble trying to use a backup power bank. I'm going to upgrade asap, but I'm going to use it for now just to get the feel of it, and get in the habit of using it. |

I find that when I'm armed I'm only on my best and most polite behavior.
Someone is going to have to try really hard to get shot dead but I'll do it. |

If things continue to escalate as quickly as they have been these last few weeks, people will have to start defending themselves with violence or adjust to sewing some kind of special identifying emblem on their clothing.

A few weeks ago walking through the Wally Mart parking lot mid-afternoon in Paso Robles, CA, a skinny little pipsqueak black teen feigned stepping in my path and flexed as I approached.
I'm below average ARFCOM size at 6'-5 and 260 and I only lift three times a week, but I didn't scared and grinned bigly at him. Wisht a motherfucker would be polite. lulz I got your emboldened right here sweetie Serious discussion? I've always assumed if a normal sized human threatened me that he probably has a force multiplier to even the odds. Be prepared. ETA: Re blue vs. red county - I just looked and Paso Robles is 2% black, voted 56% for Trump |

1080p and 4K (slowly upgrading them all to 4K) cameras recording my property along with front and rear dash cams in car. Cell phone set to open up recording app with two button presses. Thinking about a small body camera too.
I avoid confrontation and practice de-escalation and escape but if someone starts some unavoidable shit I want my side of the story recorded very clearly. |

I watched the video of Sasquatch stealing the woman's dog and then beating her with it.
I thought about the proper way to handle something like that. I am in MA so we do not have a stand your ground law. You are supposed to run away and if you cannot flea then fight. There would be no way I would just let some POS take my dog. I see a situation like that as a gray area for lethal force. YMMV but in MA I think I would end up in court either by the Commonwealth, Sasquatch's family, or both. I ordered up a can of Freeze +P to keep in the car and possibly carry depending upon how big the can is. I have also thought about carrying an expandable baton, just like the police have, to my daily carry. |

The Crossfire tech is only available in the gel and the foam. I wanted the Crossfire tech because the can shoots no matter what orientation it is in. That isn't true for their other products, and Sabre has lots of demos on their site showing what happens when you try to use the can at an angle. I went with the gel because it has a bit more range, and I have read stories from people that have actually used both products in law enforcement and corrections that targets can wipe off the foam and throw it back at the user. |

If they want to escalate it to that point they have been warned. |
