It's a $3,890 package that can be added to the the SV trim, so prices should be pretty reasonable, at least compared to the rest of the industry.

This is seriously awesome, and I like it way more than I should.

The front end is hideous on all Frontiers and even though it's brand new the styling is nearly as dated as the last generation already. 17 years and that's the best they could do. Pathetic.

I don't mind this package though or the exterior rear of the front quarter panels.

Frontier does come with the "long bed" option of 6ft. You aren't getting much more than that in a midsized.

As for the trim itself.. while I do like the nostalgia bits companies are doing I find it hard to justify a $4k appearance package. If I were to go for a Nissan I'd rather a Pro-4x over a SV with a black bumper and a Roll bar I'd probably end up removing.

Its not that's it's dated, it's that it's copying too many elements from full size trucks - which it is not. It ends up just looking silly.

Talking of updating designs, what Land Rover did with the Defender turned out pretty well. Im sure many would say the old style was fine though.

So an extra $4k for a pep boys fake roll bar, cheaper steel wheels, and some stickers?  Seems like a Biden 2024 bumper sticker would accomplish the same thing for a lot less money.

I used to have the Hardbody ('89) w 5-sp manual trans.  It looked just like the pic in the post except blue color, 10 yrs and 118k miles with nothing more than regular oil changes and 1 set of plugs, until it was stolen and stripped for parts.
Years later, a 2015 Pro 4X and now 2023 Pro 4X as a pre-retirement gift .  Much better than a dressed up SV.

The four-door Frontier model appears to want to compete with the most-awesome Jeep Gladiator for the same buyer demographic   …. But instead will fail miserably.

I am in the market for a new truck soon. Have been looking at the Frontier. Agree with others here as far as the cost of this package really doesn't do much.

I love my 2019 Pro-4X. I just wish people would stop hitting it.

I bought it in August 2021. Four weeks to the day later, an old guy rear-ended it at a red light, luckily only scratching the plastic piece of the bumper between the license plate and trailer hitch. Last summer, someone dragged their car down the driver's side pulling into or out of a parking spot at the VA hospital in an area not covered by cameras. I ended up having to have the rear corner panel, driver's side rear door, and step bar replaced through my insurance. Earlier this week, I noticed someone did the same thing, this time, though, they just left small dents on the front and rear of the driver's side rear fender. Assholes.

I'm not going to bother repairing the latest damage, as it's barely noticeable and I don't plan to sell the truck. my older daughter has said she wants it when she gets her license in a little over four years. So, I'll give it to her knowing she'll likely do more damage on her own. At that time, I'll likely buy a new one for myself.

Your post makes no sense.  You can get a Frontier with a 5ft or 6ft bed.  You can get any number of 1/2, 3/4, etc. tons in 5.5, 6, 6.75, 8ft.  What other options do you want.

My truck has been bumped in parking lots three times now. And nobody has left a note. It's infuriating. I think I made it a whole six months before it took its first bit of damage.

Haven't bothered to fix any of it other than scrub off the paint from the other person's vehicle. It's a base model pickup after all.

I think with Toyota going down the 4 cylinder turbo charged road, the NA 3.8L V6 in the Frontier will become more popular.  My best friend had one and it was very nice,  he sold it for a Silverado to pull a bigger boat he bought

Nissan is targeting the demographic that wants what a Tacoma is supposed to be but aren't interested in paying the inflated prices for a truck that the Tacoma isn't

My 2011 has been a great truck, probably the most trouble free vehicle I've owned. 212k miles with nothing but fluid changes, a serp belt, plugs, tires and a set of brakes. Bilstein 5100s when I decided to do a small lift.

I miss my 1990. It got the job done what I asked it to do. Had a radio, heater, and AC. That was it, and 4wd. Adjusted for inflation price of $23k I think.

Had to be cut out of it. Stopped for a deputy in front of me to make a left turn. Dipshit in a van behind me never slowed from 60.

Why are all truck beds like 5 plus feet high now? The OG Nissan you could reach over the side of the bed and grab shit. Now you need a ladder to access the beds from the outsides.

They have been raising the door line of vehicles for a long time now for safety reasons. So naturally the bed line rises too.

Though there is the added benefit that more stuff fits under a tonneau cover.

I think the Nissan is a solid choice , but when I was shopping around for a truck in 2021 and 2022 , similarly loaded up models of Nissan were only saving me $500 ish dollars over a Tacoma. To me that was not enough to swing me over to Nissan.

I got a chance to drive a new Gladiator last month, car rental company had a few on the lot so I tried one to the job site.  Overall, it's a Jeep, a bit quirky and not my cup of 4x4 tea, but people around here seemed to like them so to each its own IMO.
