I live a few miles from there. Belmont is a nice small town that rolls the sidewalks up at 9pm. Nothing good happens after midnight but she would have been safer at one of the local bars instead of that parking lot. Too bad she wasn’t armed so she could have defended herself.

People who take unnecessary risk are not immune to criticism when those risk get them hurt. Otherwise how could others learn from their mistakes? America is changing, and not for the best. Fewer and fewer places are legitimately safe 24/7, especially for women, and if you're the only person in the parking lot at 1am, you're the only person the predator is going to see. And there is the "still unsure why the unprovoked attack occurred to her outside the workout facility"; which is not a direct quote but attributed to her. I sighed when I read that.
