From my seat, as self-annointed social coordinator: Sustains: 1) I think the editing the OP format was a consistent way to push info - dinner, breakfast, advance tickets, etc. 2) 7:45 seemed like a good time for dinner - have a chance to swing by the hotel and get ready, and nothing is particularly far away. 3) Talley's seems to be the breakfast place - when we tried to change it up, it ended up being drive-through only, so ended back up @ Talley's. Improves: 1) I think we're spending way too much on food & hotels. For November, I think we should rent an ARFHouse, appoint an ARFChef, and eat ARFood. This would give us more money to spend on guns & ammo, and provide a well-defended spot to stash such gains as well. 2) As much as I hate group texts, perhaps that would have promoted more attendance at dinners and breakfasts. We had a lot more folks voting on Saturday night dinner than actually fetched up. Thoughts? 3) It was quite confusing getting texts from say, Dave, and trying to marry that up w/ the username BeatsOff87, and user Dave87 has suggestions for dinner, never gives me his #, and never turns up. It would be very helpful if everyone attending would exchange phone #s w/ everyone else. |

I'm too far north to meet for a beer in the evening. Uber isn't running up here. I looked Sunday morning for breakfast info and didn't see anything. I'll try to meet up next time. About bought a couple guns Sunday but ended up walking out with just small stuff. Hope everyone had a good time. Saw the $100 pinfire revolvers but passed. Looked pretty rough.

They made an announcement on the PA just before the show opened telling dealers to wear masks and then another announcement about 830 or 9. They didn't make any announcements after that and less and less people were wearing them as the day went on. |

Hard to maneuver through the crowd. Missed a lot of tables/isles that I wanted to see . Couldn't see anything on the high tables. Couldn't get off of it because I didn't want it blocking an isle. Always felt like I was in peoples way. That being said, I could not have done it without it so I am grateful for the option. Every one I encountered was courteous and helpful and I did my best not to gum up the works. Hip surgery scheduled for June so maybe next year I can walk it again. |

If you guys don't already have them, getting foam or gel insoles for your shoes makes a huge difference walking on the concrete all day. The show was about as I expected. Very crowded and high prices on everything, but prices were similar to other gun shows and gunbroker. There were a lot less guns walking in the aisles compared to other years. I usually look for military pistols and rifles but the prices have gone stupid over the last few years. The only gun I picked up was a swedish mauser target rifle from a dealer I already knew from WI. |
