I was skeptical on some of these types of presentations a few years ago, but after looking at the data, it’s good enough to consider the results…with a one big caveat.
The data has a relatively low refresh rate (I have seen both 5Hz and 10Hz or .2/.1 seconds per data point), so a lot can happen that isn’t picked up until the next point. If you were trying to track braking points or throttle pick up, it could be off by as much as 30 feet. IIRC, Brrrake stated that teams are utilizing a 300Hz data stream. The issue with the Sky presenters are the non-F1 drivers. Brundle, Hill, Davidson, Di Resta, and Karun are all pretty good at talking F1, Crofty is a bit of an idiot, as are the two wenches they have presenting.
