Lol, wow I got banned from my second Twitter account for @'ing him and telling him he's a piece of shit. 2 more days before I can post on Twitter again Been just over 48 years for me. |

Quoted: My father and uncle who both played in the minors said the same thing. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: Can we get a comment from Ralph on baseball movies? Bull Durham See??? I'm not a big movie watcher, I've probably only seen like 5 baseball movies. Bull Durham had been cited by players who were in the minor leagues back in the 80s as very accurate. My father and uncle who both played in the minors said the same thing. That's cool. What years did they play? |

What years did they play? Back in the '50s. My father never made it out of the minors. He played for the Mount Vernon Pilots (?) which was the equivalent to the triple A affiliate of the (then) Brooklyn Dodgers. My uncle actually played for the Padres for a while. |

Quoted: Pretty cool. What did those two do when baseball didn't pan out? View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes My uncle sold insurance (successfully) and invested in land around Tyler, TX. He eventually owned 2 working ranches (Earl Campbell worked for him throwing hay when he was in HS) and a furniture store. His wife was my aunt who died recently. My father became a career criminal who worked for the mob (no shit), managed and promoted boxers and owned a bunch of racehorses. Eventually, he lost everything, was paralyzed in an accident and used all his money from that to buy a jewelry store and art gallery. He lost all that shit when he was convicted of a few decades old cold case murders and then he died in prison. Yay |
