Maybe they can trade him and a draft pick for chubb. They can work Jessie Bates into that somehow. |

So, as of today, we're talking 3 quarterbacks in the top 5? In this order: Bryce Young > CJ Stroud > Anthony Richardson. |

Quoted: Things are definitely getting spicy... View Quote Despite there being no actual football being played, the stretch between combine rumor week and the opening of FA is one of my favorite times of the season. There are lots of interesting roster construction choices and very high stakes decisions being made. |

View Quote I’m hoping this is an elaborate troll job. The Falcons currently only have needs at QB, WR, G, T, DL, DE, OLB, CB, and S. Using draft capital and all your salary cap on QB and filling out the rest of those positions with late round picks and veteran minimum contracts will surely work. Right? |
|
They did it. |

He wants a new contract too. The $20M he is due this year isn't good enough anymore. Even though he is a 31 year old receiver coming off a suspension season. |

If the Falcons fill in some of those weak spots instead of blowing their wad on Jackson they may find out that Ridder is good enough for a few years, makes more sense to me to do it that way but what do I know... |

Boooooo. |

Another noteworthy item in the Lamar deal. The franchise tender cut-off sign date is July 15th. The Ravens can NOT trade Lamar until after he signs his tender. Which means he can force them into waiting all the way into July if he wants.

This has to be a smoke screen. There have been way too many reports coming out of the combine for this to be true. |

View Quote Yesterday TF was quoted as saying basically it doesn’t matter who the QB is if you don’t have a team around him. Currently his focus is on building that team. I don’t put a lot of faith in that because at some point they have to win games. I think they are on the right path but their seats are getting warm. |

Right at the buzzer. Which is probably why Daniel Jones is in the $40's. Wanted to get that tag in on Barkley. |

I feel about the Giants extending Jones the same way I felt about the Eagles extending Wentz.

This has to be a smoke screen. There have been way too many reports coming out of the combine for this to be true. Could be a smokescreen but for what? Maybe they have a deal brewing to move up in the draft for a QB, maybe the reports are just true with no strings attached. Fontenot said there would be an addition to the QB room but didn't specify if it would be a rookie to compete with Ridder or a veteran to help him along, either one would be less expensive and make more sense at this stage of the program than making a ridiculous deal for Jackson. WSB-TV reporter (Atlanta) Zach Klien heard similar things in the aftermath of Jackson being given the non-exclusive tag. Per multiple NFL league sources, Lamar Jackson is not going to play for the Atlanta Falcons. Team will not engage in talks with Baltimore. It's not happening. — Zach Klein (@ZachKleinWSB) March 7, 2023 |

View Quote Presumably because they were a team he would waive his trade clause for. Then the Browns were willing to offer 3 firsts and a fully guaranteed contract and bo one else was remotely that desperate. |
|
While this is plausible, this is exactly what I would "leak" if I were planning to make significant moves to bolster WR/TE. |
|
Edit: $40MPY avg ties Daniel Jones at 7th highest with Dak and Stafford. |

Eagles don't use their franchise tag again.
The team has only done it 5 times ever, last time was DeSean Jackson in 2012. |

This has to be a smoke screen. There have been way too many reports coming out of the combine for this to be true. View Quote All of the recent reports came from circular reporting referencing the same report from a click-bate rumor monger. Any actual reporter with NFL sources have been consistently reporting the opposite. Comments from the Falcon's owner, GM, and head coach all point to them building a team around Ridder. People like to insinuate that the Falcons aren't happy with Ridder because they haven't named him the starter. It is in their best interests for other teams to think that the Falcons want a QB in the draft. Every team that trades up ahead of the 8th pick to take a QB, means one more defensive player still on the board. It would be stupid to tell everyone what they plan to do prior to the draft. |
