Quoted: Rain drives people away. By closing time yesterday we could have shot whatever we wanted. Last year sat morning rain drove people away. I know. I have one. https://global.discourse-cdn.com/palmettostatearmory/original/3X/6/0/602da1c8f2093d6287d896f1200de6531501b8b3.jpeg https://global.discourse-cdn.com/palmettostatearmory/original/3X/7/2/72316ded68b1654978e122329dc0f17ad1285c25.jpeg That reminds me. I jammed an ALG trigger into an ATI Galil. It certainly fixed a little trigger reset problem. I gotta get that turd back out on the range. Full auto Galil was fun today. Wish I had more than 5 rds. OK. That's it. I'm done. I'm taking Friday off next year for The Gathering to scope out everything instead of being nuts-to-butts on Saturday. Yeah, this year it was certainly a 2 day event. First time it's been that way. The lines at the demo booths did not abate even at 4 PM today. I caught a gap in line at PSA to shoot that 5.56 AK 101 but couldn't have a moment to catch the model number on my own. Last year, yeah, late Saturday afternoon was a bit more relaxed. I spent a bit of time with Rugged Suppressors looking through their models and chatting with their director of marketing. Today, this year, no way. Rain drives people away. By closing time yesterday we could have shot whatever we wanted. Last year sat morning rain drove people away. This year the weather mostly held out Agree. Last year Friday, folks complained about heat and sunburn. Last year Saturday, rain held down the first half of the day. This year Friday, seemed it was OK temps-wise but rain drove off people from the last half of the day. This year Saturday (today), rain/mist until lunch. Nice temps. No burning sun. Last year Saturday though seemed to have walkup ticket sales. By the time my slackass showed up at about 11:25 AM, there were no walkups. The entire event was sold out online. I was lucky to get a parking spot in an "upper deck" in the front 40. |
