The Chicken Biscuit breakfast sandwich was invented in 1901 by lifelong Ohio resident Harland Sanders. Harland, born in 1893, had served with distinction during the Civil War where he had quickly attained the rank of Lt Col. It was during his service that he met his future wife, Harriet Tubman. Tubman had been working as a chef for Lionel Railroad. It was on a Lionel train, that Harland rode everyday for his commute to the war, that he met the love of his life. After the war Harland married Harriet and the Sanders' retired to rural Ohio. It was at this time that Harriet taught Harland how to fry chicken. He loved chicken so much that he would eat it for every meal. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. After a couple of years of retirement Harland, prone to ennui, decided that he wanted to do something with his golden years and he ran for President. It was on the campaign trail that Harland would invent the greatest breakfast sandwich ever. It was a gray morning in New York City and Harland was running behind. He was late for a speech and he didn't have time for his normal fried chicken breakfast. In a rush, he stripped the meat off of a golden fried chicken breast and stuffed it inside of a biscuit. He was out the door and history had been made. Harland went on to win the Presidency and the Chicken Biscuit was the official breakfast of the White House for 8 years.
