The dealership loves that guy.  He'll be back in about a year crying about his payments.  They'll put him in new Dodge Dart, roll over the negative equity, and he will thank them for lowering his payment to $600/month.  Then they'll turn around and profit on their new low mileage, barely used trade-in.

Targeted at folks that only see the $1164 number, are shocked they got the line of credit at all, and go ahead and sign.

Dodge brodozers are expensive.  Dodge will also finance anyone.  They charge 28% for the 2/3 that default.

I'd probably guess it was Chrysler Finance.  They tried to get me to pay 8.9% with an 800+ FICO..

Got a guy financed on a 410 beacon on a used Dodge Caravan. 29.9% loan.
Painter and needed it to hold his job, his wife bailed on him and royally fucked up his credit.
He drove it for 2 years and made his payments and bought a truck off me @6.9%.

Doesn't happen much but he was determined.

Lol, finance charge was higher than the principal.

That’s gotta be fake (people can work up most any numbers), 28% for 96 months is just stupid.

We call auto finance semi-secured. Yeah you technically have collateral but what’s the recovery rate and costs? Add that it likely goes to auction or bulk sale for minimal return and you can see why auto rates get stupid for bad credit.

I understand.  But 28% would be completely out of line on a fully unsecured lone like a credit card.

OTOH vehicle repossessions can be entertaining.
