Hell, for $4.5M I'd pick up some old MIG for a couple of hundred thousand and spend the rest on fuel and parts. $4.3M is a lot of flight time.

I believe both, the props are spinning but something with the lens distorts it i think, not really sure though. |

Sure the 190 was more forgiving, but most ace pilots favored the 109s The smartest thing to do would have been to put the DB engine into the FW190 airframe and they would have resolved the FW's shortcomings at altitude. Plus the FW was easier to fly and manufacture. Kurt Tank always fought for that engine but never got it. The problem was mainly politics - the Nazi Party was Bavarian in its origins and always looked out for its base. |
