Such happy memories.
The days of replacing a mouse ball with an olive are long gone.
Or replacing autoexec.bat with a little bat that cleared the screen and printed "keyboard not found. Press F1 to continue" which would then erase itself and rewrite autoexec so when the hapless idiot called IT there was no evidence that he had ever received an error message.

we had far more fun with other operating systems....
like setting the font color and the background color both to bright pink on workstations
Or adding a command file to a user's login, which said hey buddy watch this, and then displayed on the screen a delete of every file in their directory, with interrupts disabled (controll-c / control-y). then as it exited, it changed the directory verb to display no files found. (of course nothing was deleted). It would even pause for larger files...
or changing their account to captive and locking them into a command file that insulted with with every keystroke
or faking a global e-mail from their account announcing they would be bringing in doughnuts tomorrow.
ah, the gold old days of office computer warfare.
