That was me that said I’d go with an OEM myself. That’s a difference of opinion though. If I was a clone guy I’d want the Colt logo with the M4 markings and UID engraving more than the US property.

But I’m not much of a clone guy and don’t like the Block 1 much anyway. The URGI would be more my style but I don’t have the self control to not change things to the way I like.

But by the time you spent the money getting the barrel shortened and P&w, the ras , stock and buis you are around the price of the socom rifle and far above the psa cost.Thats what I was getting at in my response. If you are going to do that just get the socom with the correct markings, barrel and everything already if dead set on a colt.

I can understand wanting things how you prefer as well. There is nothing wrong with that either. A rifle should be set up best for the user..

It looks like a good offering. It will be convenient for a ton of guys who want something like they carried overseas but aren’t die hard cloners or collectors.

If you’d rather buy a Colt and the other parts yourself, do that.

Jesus Christ people…

But I quite enjoy hearing the mental gymnastics that people do in order to justify doing what they did for reasons they don't actually understand.

For the 14.7” yes. For the 16” variant it’s within $150 difference using the OEM1 as a base. And that’s adding it up with the RAS at full price. The PSA base price is $630 for the upper and lower bought separately from PSA. That means the Matech, rail, and sling attachment adds up to $270 in cost which is about right if you were buying the rail on the high end in price for some reason.

Looks excellent. I’m a little surprised they decided to make it more expensive with the CHF barrel.  Nitride or simply chrome lined would have been preferable for price.  Now, if it was an actual SOCOM profile under the hand guards, awesome buy.

I do not think PSA makes CL barrels everything they make is nitride and just phosphate finish no CL.  The CHF barrel may be what FN offers with the specs they want.  I want them to release a 14.5/7 barrel not P&W M4 upper so I can put a DD free float pic rail on it then P&W.

A couple of months ago Brownells came out with the P&S RAS for sale.  Now they no longer have them.  I guess PSA is getting them now.

They do make in house CHF/CL barrels for their AKs.  It's the GF4 iirc.  Not sure if they do AR barrels yet.

I forgot about those.  So eventually, they could do it on their own.

Did you loosen the screw all the way?
What was the issue that it wouldn't fit? I have had several uppers I have worked on where I had to remove the retention screw to get it on then put the screw back in once it was on.

This was an army buddies Delton I had to do that with. I had a rra I also had to do that with.

I had the screw all the way out. It went on my 6920 no problem.

The barrel near the receiver was much thicker on the psa. I could just be a dumb ass but I tried for like an hour and said screw it and tried it on my colt and it popped on no problem.

I like it.

My only gripe is I wish they would add some sort of roll mark above the property engraving.  It looks off with the blank space.

Something similar to their H&R logo, but different.

It wouldn’t be clone correct by any measure, but as it’s a part of their Sabre line, the Sabre logo would be cool.  But I definitely understand why they didn’t.

I think I’m going to pick the 14.7” one up soon.

When you said Sabre I got excited for a second and thought they were bringing back the old Sabre Defense Thundercats rollmark.
