Yep, I was in the shower during the daytime alone at home, I heard multiple loud noises, when I got out of the shower there was a picture swinging from one nail that had previously been hanging from two nails, and there was a mirror on the floor.

I wfh 3 days a week and am here by myself.  I have heard multiple times footsteps upstairs (I work in my finished basement)-I always run up the stairs and no one there.

Years ago hunting with my daughter when she was a child I was in a blind overlooking a cut corn field surrounded by bluffs and a creek on three sides.  The creek had trees around it.  My pov was field, tree line, creek and then immediately bluff-the tree line was about 150 yards away, then about 20' of trees, then creek, then immediately bluff.  The first evening at late dusk in October (so there were still leaves on the trees) I saw a blue green glow from the area of the creek and it just lingered there.  I thought to myself that is odd, and it went away by the time we got to the 4 wheeler.  The more I thought about it the more it pissed me off that someone was fucking with my daughter's youth hunt.  The second day at late dusk it showed up again-except I was ready for it.  I jumped out of the blind and sprinted the 150 yards to the tree line and jumped into the creek with my surefire and a pistol (my intention was to scare the piss out of whomever was doing it) and the light went away right before I got to the tree line, but I burst into the trees and stopped at the edge of the creek.  I shined my light up and down the creek and there was nothing NOT A THING.  The property was the site of an old county jail farm with a couple of house sites that just have a chimney left.  I asked the property owner who is always friendly and talkative about it and he clammed up and didn't want to talk about it.  Later doing some internet researching about it I now realize that it was stupid to chase an orb in the woods.

If hunting you cant hunt after a certain time anyway so the only time Id be out is on my way back. And that usually just involves looking where you're going, the ground in front of you.

Every night I tried off the light in the library at midnight when I ended my shift. At 6 am the lights would be on and the room smelled of cigar smoke. I would walk the room looking for burned cigars f8nd none. Turn off the light and go to bed. When the GM. Came in at 8 the bloody lights would be on and he'd give me shit about it. After about a month of this. I said to the room one night I was gonna get thrown out and fired if they kept leaving the light on in the morning. After that it was never left on again. Also. That's not an uncommon story. My grandma's neighbor's husband passed away several years ago and Ive been helping around her property when I can. She told me one day she sees her husband. She just said it so calmly and as a matter of fact. I was like "oh". Not sure what to say. She said she knows it's not real.
Ive not seen him and dont care to. They have a great big building full of machinery and farm stuff. It's been not used for years so it's dusty and dirty. I dont know where the lights are and sometimes she sends me to look for something.
So I end up in some dark old spooky "barn" with a little light looking for whatever. It's a little creepy, but I just think to myself Im here helping so the husband aint going to want to scare me off the property.

I've had a couple things that I couldn't quite explain, nothing super exciting though.

When I was in college in 2004, me and 2 friends rented a cheap townhouse near campus.  I was alone one night watching tv (family guy), I was sitting on the couch (sober) and noticed the vertical blinds moving in front of the sliding glass door in the kitchen/beer pong area.  I thought someone had left the door cracked open, so I got up, walked over, and checked the door.  It was closed.  No drafts, nothing out of the ordinary.  I walk back and sit on the couch, and a few minutes later the blinds started moving again.   Ok now that's weird, so I walk over again, and right as I get to the kitchen/beer pong area, the blinds stop moving, and the tv shuts off behind me.  I think I said something like "what the fuck", and then sat down and turned the tv on again.  Nothing happened after that, but it was weird.

Another time I was working late at a pharmacy.  It used to be the site of a funeral home, until they moved across the street.  Walgreens bought the property and build a pharmacy there.  The employees always talked about weird shit going on in the place.  Items falling off shelves or in the stockroom, and one customer saw a man walk through the door to the manager's office.  I can handwave all that away, because people are shit at stocking shelves, they just throw shit on the racks in the stockroom, and the people who come in at 2am to get meds are usually a little off.  HOWEVER, this night, I stayed a bit past my shift to help out the night pharmacist fill a big stack of monthly prescriptions.  We were talking and suddenly heard this loud *pop* sound.  We both started looking around and found this rubber stopper on the floor.  Looking up, we found a bottle of WFI (sterile water for injection) that had shot off the stopper.  I guess this isn't too weird, but there was no source of heat or anything that could cause a pressure differential like that.  It's pure water, so no kind of chemical reaction should be taking place in there.  I just couldn't explain it.

The house I lived in until I was 13 was an built in the late 19th-Century. I experienced all kinds of odd stuff there. Residual sounds. Doors opening. Objects moving. A bed shaking. Feeling someone sit on my bed.

There was a staircase over my bedroom (a converted closet). There would occasionally be the sounds of footsteps on the stairs. One night, I heard the steps, I ran out of my room, and snapped a pic of the staircase. A third of the pic is a smoky/foggy anomaly. Is it a defect? The flash reflecting off something? Or a ghost?

I was a bit obsessed with the paranormal back then, though. Sightings, Unsolved Mysteries, The X-Files, etc. were my favorite shows.

Now, I'm a skeptic. I've been to many "haunted" locations and not experienced anything.

We lived in a house when my home burned while in the 5th grade............the home was an old school with 9 rooms on the bottom and two school rooms on the top floor. The lady who lived there's father served in WWI and died in the house. We explored and went into the middle room and found the chest with all of hid decorations and some "items" that were allowed to be brought back in that time period. We regularly heard noises, cabinets opened, scratching on the windows, on the doors, etc..........the middle room in the front had the stairs that went to the top rooms, and once we saw what looked like fog rolling down the stairs on some nights during the fall..........

A couple times. The first time was in our house.

We just got into bed, turned the light off, and we smelled a rotten egg smell. I thought it might be a gas leak, so we got up to investigate the source of it. Couldn't find anything in our room, so we went in the hallway, but it didn't smell in the hallway.

We went back into the bedroom and when we did, the 2 doors on our dresser (which  are held secure with roller clips) immediately swung open. As soon as that happened, the rotten egg smell went away. We were creeped out, but I shut the dresser doors, we prayed together, and felt less creeped out after that.

The other time(s) we were staying at an Air BnB in Dubuque, Iowa. We rented a beautiful old house that had recently been renovated. Now, if you've ever been to Dubuque, you know it's a hilly town. This was an old brick house built on the side of a hill and was 3 stories tall with the main entrance and floor at the top and the rest of the house descending the hill. Really neat place.

Anyways, the first night my wife felt a hand touch her back, which was towards the edge of the bed and a wall. She thought it might have just been a dream and didn't tell me about it right away.

The next night, I was hanging out in bed reading, my wife was taking a shower in the bedroom right across the hallway. The kids were asleep in the bedroom right next to our bedroom. I heard the kids' bedroom door open, and expected one of the kids to come in our room a few seconds later, but no one did. Then I heard their bedroom door close. Concerned, I immediately got up and checked on them. Both kids were sound asleep.  I was quick enough that if it had been a kid, they wouldn't have been able to get into bed before I saw them.

When my wife came out of the bathroom I told her about it, and she told me about her experience the night before. Needless to say, I had a hard time sleeping that night. We went home the next day.

I've never sought or wished for those incidences. A few were terrifying, but most just confusing or inexplicable.

I believe many or most people are less perceptive or just in denial.

A few of these incidences were in the presence of others who only noticed when I directed their attention. To me, this supports the idea that some people are just unaware or distracted.

I've accepted Jesus and have been redeemed by him. All the above has NOTHING to do with seeking the occult or devil worship as some foggy-brains might suggest.

Our family dog went from docile sleeping on the couch to chasing something unseen snarling and barking like a life-and-death fight at something in the corner of the room. Then just whimpered and ran away. This was the house I grew up in built in the 1700s. Lots of noises, cold spots, footsteps, etc. I still get goosebumps thinking about some of it. You could feel it - I had a few friends that flat out refused to enter the house that didn't know of any of the spooky stuff.

Thinking about my post on page 1, lots of things can be explained away.  Lights, noises, dishes falling, things missing and then reappearing, movement out of the corner of your eye, shadows, etc.
Could it be paranormal, a ghost, a spirt, etc.?  Sure, there could also be a simple explanation for it as well.

The hotel room incident though proved to me 100% there are paranormal things.  There is absolutely no way to explain a chair that was pushed up under a table, pulling itself away from the table and turning 45 degrees to face me.   Somebody/something pulled that chair out, turned it around and I presume sit in it.

I now view the whole topic of ghosts/paranormal activity differently and realize we don't really know what's out there.

Two years ago we stayed at the Hampton Inn in Biloxi on Beach Blvd. Top floor, most southeast room.

I woke in the middle of the night and saw a woman standing at the end of the bed dressed in a 1890s-ish dress with arms outstretched.  She did not move or speak. I rolled over and there was a little girl dressed in a similar way playing a game on the floor.

I sat up and they disappeared.  I had not been drinking.  I’m certain it was not a dream.

Four Incidents:

1.  Approximately 1982.

I was about five years old. My Father had been honorably discharged from the US Navy as an E5 and was attending Central Michigan University while working a full time job.  He and my Mother were in their mid/late 20's and had purchased a three bedroom ranch style house on a quarter acre lot that was relatively new on a rural, but paved road in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan (farm field behind it, nice relatively new homes up and down the road on each side).

My Father had been stationed in Spain where my Mother lived with him and they brought back various things they had purchased in Spain. My Mother loved to visit the open air bazaar style flea markets that Spain had at the time.  Among the various little knick-knacks she purchased in Spain were porcelain angle figures.   She installed a shelf in the dining room area and placed the angles on the shelf.

Those angles would repeatedly be found every morning facing towards the wall, towards my bedroom, which was the only bedroom on the other side of that wall (there was a full bathroom between my room and the wall the shelf was on).   My Mother and Father are not superstitiuos even in the slightest and to my amazement to this day did not do anything other than just turn the angels back around each morning until eventually my Mom just got rid of them and figured "problem solved."   The angels were way too high up for me to reach them even with a chair.

2.  Later in 1982.

My Godfather was still in the US Navy, but was home on leave and decided to visit my family.  He came to stay with us for a few days and slept in the guest bedroom, which was across from the bathroom and diagnol to my bedroom.   In the middle of the night, he got up  to go to the bathroom and he witnessed what he thought was my Mother, because it was as he described it "a woman in a white long gown going into my bedroom."  He thought nothing of it, figuring it was just my Mother checking in on me for some reason and he went back to bed.

In the morning, he asked my Mother what was wrong with me that prompted her to get up in the middle of the night and go into my room.  My Mother told him that she had not woken up and did not go into my room.  What's more, she was not sleeping in a white night gown and did not own a night gown like it (she slept in a long t-shirt).

3.  Early 1983.

My Uncle was over to visit my family.  He stays in the guest room and he too in the middle of the night gets up to use the bathroom. He also sees what he thought was a glimpse of my Mother going into my room, again wearing a long white night gown.   Now, my Uncle did not know my Godfather at all, and had never met him.  My parents had never told my Uncle about my Godfather's story.  However, what my Uncle described to them the next morning during breakfast matched exactly what my Godfather had told them months previously.

4.  Winter of 2001.

I'm attending Central Michigan University. My parents had left Mt. Pleasant after my Father's graduation from Cental Michigan Univesity and I had gone the rest of my life without incident.   I'm in an apartment on the second floor in an apartment building that just a few years old at that time living with one roommate.  My roommate is at work (Red Lobster) and I'm with my girlfriend in my bedroom both fully clothed sober laying on my bed watching TV with her.   My apartment door is locked and the windows are all locked (it was winter).  The bedroom ceiling light is on, we're wide awake in a well lighted room.

Suddenly, the noise of my bedroom door knob turning catches the attention of my girlfriend and I who both look over and watch as the door knob to my bedroom starts to turn extremely slowly, but clearly is turning.    We both watch as the door knob after making a full turn stops as if someone let it go and snaps back loudly.  I got up thinking it was my roommate, which would have been odd because he never would have tried to open the door without knocking or announcing himself first.   I open the door and....nothing. There was nobody in our apartment.

I did a full search of the apartment, every room was empty, nothing was unlocked, and my roommate was still working his shift at Red Lobster.   There was no way that anyone who had been at my bedroom door could have exited quickly enough not to be seen by me.   It was the oddest damn thing I'd ever seen.

Long story short:

I was young when the first incidents happened and never experienced them myself. If anything was going into my room as a kid, I never knew about it or it didn't impact me enough to leave  lasting memory.   The college incident came after I had already lived in Mt. Pleasant as a student for years.   I have no idea why it happened, or what caused it to happen.   Mt. Pleasant, Michigan is the home of a Native American reservation, but I never lived on the reservation's land.   I can't explain any of it, but I know what I saw that night in college and I wasn't alone to witness it.  Was it a ghost? Is there something in Mt. Pleasant that for some reason targets me? I can't say.   My parents are normal white bread midwestern Americans, like a lot of Boomers they weren't particularly reglious (church maybe twice a years on Christmas and Easter), but they didn't dabble in the occult or anything heretical or demonic.   My parents were married in the Catholic Church, I had been baptized, and there was nothing in the history of the house known to us that was of any note.  I graduated from Central Michigan University without any further incidents and have lived my life up to now without any further incidents, but since leaving Mt. Pleasant I have never been back to spend a night again and have no plans to do so.

I went to a Tilted Kilt restaurant with a friend several years ago and felt a VERY strong presence of something evil there.  No, it wasn't because the waitresses were in short skits and this isn't a parody.  Something felt seriously evil.  I'm not sure what it was.  Once we left the restaurant the feeling ceased.  I'm not a medium or anything like that.   I have come across evil people as a LEO, but this was different and much stronger.

Similar to you, I've been driving in Florida since ~1980 and I've had similar experiences in the past while both riding motorcycles, and driving cars/Jeeps in heavy traffic where I just suddenly changed lanes, or braked hard for no *conscious* reason, resulting in moves that saved me from either certain death or a horrible accident at the very least.   In the past, I used to just attribute this to my subconscious mind assessing factors/dangers that I didn't *consciously* notice, but resulting in my changing course/direction or rate of travel just in the nick of time, but as I've gotten older, I have begun to wonder/question if it was entirely *my* mind making those assessments and sudden reactions or some other external influence.

There have been so many over the years, that I've come to the assessment that either my subconscious is working massive overtime, or I've been blessed with at least an occasional oversight by something or someone.

Here is a story I almost forgot to tell that was related to a SG`s past history.

Used to work in Oak Ridge as a SG.

He said one cold night, he got a call from his Supervisor to come out to building 13 which had been closed for years and weird events had happened there many times.

He went out to the site and was sitting in his car for a few minutes before looking around the building.

For some odd reason, he felt like someone was watching him.

He looked through his passenger window and saw a hideous face looking at him through the glass.

He closed his eyes for a second or two then opened them and looked again. It was gone.

Creeped him out real bad.

Didn`t stay at that job much longer after that.

Quick mid morning bump.

I find that the dramatic stories are fun, but its easy to be a little skeptical when you hear them.

The ones that stand out to me are the minor ones, no dramatics, no jump scares, and no conclusion to it ("Ohhhh a man killed his whole family with an axe there in 1947")

I have one Ill humbly submit. Its actually a pretty boring story with no big reveal at the end. Just a head scratcher.

I was training for a volunteer fire department when I was in my early 20s. The fire station was very new, but had an interesting reputation of being haunted. There was a Halloween story on the local news about the supposedly haunted station.

One time I was in the ambulance with a paramedic, Vickie, and we had the back doors open on the squad. We were just stocking the unit and checking inventory. Very routine, boring training stuff. Nobody else was in the station.

We had been in the unit for several minutes, and were just wrapping up when the back door of the rescue squad closed.

Nobody around, no garage doors open, no explanation. It didn't just close because of the van shifting from our weight- we had been moving about the van for the entire time.

Vickie looked at me and nonchalantly shrugged and said "I guess the ghost says hi".

It was completely unexplainable, and was so casual it was basically not even noteworthy. To this day I wouldn't even consider it a paranormal story- it is just a weird, unexplainable thing that happened to me.

My grandma had a very strange encounter once that I shared in the creepy thread. Ill share that one or repost it here when I get a chance. It involves possibly receiving a sign from the other side that her late daughter is alright.

She manages to turn around and she sees that it's her mother who has grabbed her. Her mother says, "I heard it, too." "
