I have a fleet of over 100 RC planes and I'm registered with the FAA for another 3 years!  Does that count?

ETA the only plane I actually ever got to fly.  R.I.P. you left way too fucking early!

Beech Sundowner N5102M.  Owned her for 20 years and sold her last year.  She was a good bird.  Still had the original pain from 1978.
That's why she is grandfathered in before the big N Numbers were required on the fuselage.

Watching OshKosh videos every year lately I've wondered about the small numbers.  Thanks!

Not gonna dig up pics... Beech Sundowner, Cessna 172, Cessna 152, Beech Skipper, V-tail Bonanza, Cherokee 6, Piper Cub, T-6 Texan, Beech Staggerwing. Some more after that. Nothing cool like choppers or jets, but the T-6 was a blast. Funny story was when we had 6 people plus the pilot and luggage in a Eurocopter helo over sketchy mountains in AK. I asked the pilot if he could hover outside of ground effect at that altitude. Most of the passengers pooped twinkies sideways when he put into a hover. That was cool. Edit: a glider as well. Can't remember what it was. Just a tow to a maybe 5k AGL. I obviously didn't land it, but it was fun. Did a few stalls and steep turns.

Hah! I've flown that 757 after we inherited it. Thought maybe I had a picture of it but I'm not having any luck finding it. Here's a pic I took of it's sister.

@chadjetlag

Do y'all still have two planes at Gwinnett? I'll be out there this weekend in the EAA hanger while my daughter is taking a ham cram to earn her general license on Saturday and part of Sunday.

Somehow I missed this post.  That company bankrupted in 2007 (they were home builders).  The little flight school outside the eaa hangars is where I was an instructor waaay back in the day.  This weekend I am in Italy for our “big trip” that the company each year.

How is the ham cram?  I would like to do that

Cool! 757 is still the best! I love the 717 and G550 but the 75 is perfect.

I love it when I taxi by a former TW 757 in Delta paint and point out to the new people that AA just gave them away because of the (superior) PW engines.

The planes we dropped from varied, but 17 was my favorite. The most rewarding missions I flew.

ETA: to be clear, I am not a pilot. I missed that first word in the title.

I did pretty good in the Maverick stuff on Flight Sim if that counts

Question for GA guys from someone hoping to start soon - am I an idiot for wanting a Piper Cherokee/Warrior over a Cessna 172? Is there any particular benefit to finding a school that has the specific plane you'd intend to end up with, or are they close enough that just getting in the air is the more important thing to do?
