I love Chucks but I'm pretty sure they gave me a bunion. Tried Vans and they just made my feet hurt.

There's no reason NOT to wear them as everyday shoes either.

Guess I better not wear my tennis shoes when I'm not playing tennis.

OP, how do you feel about ball caps?

Just started wearing them (over 50 years old) for around the house and short trips into town for milk and such.

They are comfortable, light and easy to slip on.

I'm apparently old. I had no idea what you were talking about. Then I looked it up and all the pics looked like sneakers in one form or another.

So, no I don't wear them, and never did. I wear sandals and heels most of the time.

I've been buying these since 97. I've had others shoes but when you find something that works, why fight it?

Simple old schools.

They were discontinued for a few years but simple brought them back.

They look comfy.  Generally I go with New Balance for fit but i like some Vans and Skechers.  Yeah, they are youth oriented but If the shoe fit I'd wear it.

I used to have a pair when we rode our mini dirt bikes around camp after riding the 250s and 450s on the dunes. They held up a lot better for kickstarting.

If they brought back the original Kostons made by eS with the gum sole I'd probably buy a pair.  I'm going to be 33 this year.

When I was commercial fishing in Alaska for about a decade, I found that skate shoes made great deck shoes.  You cant always wear your Extratuf's. You need something you can slip on and off real quickly.

I also still have my Sector 9 and when I go longboarding, skate shoes are the footwear of choice.  Do I wear them everyday. No, I wear Asolo hiking boots.  Good for running, climbing, working, firewood gathering.

Nothing wrong with skate shoes.  Definitely a better option than New Balance or white 80's style high-tops with the laces strung low and the tongue lolling out.

Reread your post. Nothing went wrong in my life. I wear them because they are comfortable/functional and they look fine with the type of casual cloths I wear.

I'm 41 and own a newer pair of Vans that are pretty much trashed from long boarding.  They have been retired to lawn mowing duty.  I need to buy a new pair and OP should go outside.

I'm 28 and I have worn out more pairs of vans than I can count.  Currently sporting some low top black old skools.  Pretty cushy.

They're making these again?  Off to look for them.  I led the entire conference in scoring, in basketball, my freshman year of HS, wearing simples.

These make great driving shoes , hell I used to frame houses in them cause the sole was gummy enough for traction on wet osb. I think this pair is my 8th or 9th

Bought them at Zappos for $55
