He can eat himself to death if he wants. But he needs to plan for his size and not make others suffer for his choices.

Quoted: He can eat himself to death if he wants. But he needs to plan for his size and not make others suffer for his choices. View Quote Equally as important, the airlines need to step up and stick with their own internal policies regarding this. Most airlines have wording that spelled out that you need a second seat if you encroach into somebody else’s seat do to your size. |

Just put some metal bars out front, 14" apart with a sign:
"Must be this narrow to enter" If they can't squeeze through that then no entry, you don't meet the definition of 'passenger' Maybe you can try live cargo. |
Quoted: If they buy two seats, can they remove the arm rest in the middle, or do they straddle the arm rest between the two paid seats? View Quote Either way, I doubt the FAA and those responsible for safety will be happy. I’m not trying to pick on him, but imagine if this guy was on the flight that went down in the Hudson. It would have seriously complicated the evacuation and rescue and would have required special equipment. Not to mention if he was injured/non ambulatory. |
If I was that big I would be buying 2 seats for the sake of my own comfort. Flying sucks enough, I really can't imagine doing it when I can't even fit in the seat let alone get halfway comfortable.
Just like the Amusement Park they have a chair just like the ride at the entrance, if you cannot fit in that chair you dont ride. Quite pandering to the obese slobs in society.

Quoted: OK but what about all the flights where you don’t have someone willing to pay for that seat because they’re not land whales. Now you’ve lost revenue where you could have three other seats for each one of those ridiculously oversize seats You’d have to reconfigure That particular row every flight based upon the occasional obese person. Which means at each location you fly to you would have to have spare seats and different sizes View Quote There would be two seats in place of three assuming that is an adequate size/width. Leave it in that configuration. If no whale uses it, maybe someone in a wheel chair...or someone gets upgraded to that seat. |

Dangerous and disrespectful to every other person on that flight.

And I had to pay an extra $50 because my carry on bag weighed 1 pound too much yet this guy weighs 4 times as much as me.
That's cargo.
If he moves around the plane the autopilot adjusts the trim........ |
What about seat belts? I doubt any plane seat belt would fit around that slob.
So you are sitting next to him, turbulence hits. Since he is "too big" to fit in a seat belt, he ends of on top of you. Life sucks lol. I only fly when absolutely necessary. |

Quoted: There should be a metal gauge that people need to fit in like they have for carry on luggage size to determine if they should buy 2 seats. View Quote Attached File |

The important question is, was he American?
I know Euros have been getting fatter but I have yet to see one like that. Especially Scandinavians. |
Quoted: How would you like to be stuck behind him in an emergency? View Quote Wouldn't that be some shit ........... getting burned alive cause some disgusting fat body can't get down the aisle fast enough. I'm surprised seating them where they wouldn't impede exiting the plane hasn't been enforced by now. |
Maybe be he should walk to where he is going and by the time he gets there he may have burned enough calories to get a one way ticket back.
Quoted: “Plus-size” That’s a fucking gravy bag. Pay for 2 seats or a wider first class seat you disgusting fat body! View Quote This. Plus size is maybe 315 and under depending on height. That guy has to be over 450 and probably is close to pulling his own gravity.... Planes should have weight limits like helo's |

View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: Could they not have one or two double wide seats available for extra large people? What would they do with those seats on flights where nobody is morbidly obese? I mean i would pay a few dollars more for a more comfortable seat and i can fit in one. But i also one hundred percent support charging passengers for the seats they take up and the weight they take up. I think the airlines could do better with ticketing in terms of not overbooking flights but this is a non issue. You carry more bags, you pay. You take up two seats. You buy two seat tickets. Don’t like it? Eating less saves you money and a gym membership costs you less than a plane ticket. Figure it out or drive yourself. |

I used to work with a lady that big. She was a big fan of the local college basketball team, and had season tickets. They made her buy two seats. She never complained, seemed like she knew it was the fair thing to do for those with seats next to her. This was 20+ years ago, before being fat made you a special snowflake and wasn't your fault.
There was a time when people like that were either forced to buy two seats or were not allowed to fly. You want to be morbidly obese, that is your choice, but having consideration for others is also a choice

How does he fit into a car? Somebody should bring back the bench seat.

I'm no doctor, but that particular problem will self correct in a couple years. Hopefully in his sleep.

Quoted: What about seat belts? I doubt any plane seat belt would fit around that slob. View Quote They already have seatbelt extenders the flight attendants will pass out. It's just a straight piece of seat belt with a male connector on one end and a female on the other to span between the seat's connectors. |

Say he and I grab lunch at McDonalds together.
Should we pay the same amount for our orders? |
Quoted: And I had to pay an extra $50 because my carry on bag weighed 1 pound too much yet this guy weighs 4 times as much as me. View Quote That fee is to discourage overweight bags that the baggage handlers have to move (and potentially get injured while they fling the bag like it's the WWE). |

If your bag is of a certain size, you cannot take it on the plane, the same should apply to people. Make the guy buy two seats. It is unfair to the pax next to him.
Fatties shouldn't be allowed to fly. What if there is an emergency? That guy is a liability. No way he can rapidly move down the aisle, no way he can fit through an emergency door. They banned lawn darts, they can ban fatties from planes. |
