I’d rather take a finger in the ass than have to crew one of those pieces of shit!
I have been all over them in static displays and while in action. No thanks! Crew comfort is terrible. Ergonomics are non existent. Nothing is quick disconnect. Very little can be fixed on a crew level. One less crew member makes more work for the three remaining in every instance. F that! |

Quoted: @lexustech48 Brother, I literally have been collecting soviet era armor since before the Ukrainians over threw their Russian puppet government. Before "the current thing" or "I stand with..." I had soviet armored vehicles. I have had a love for Soviet and European armor since the late 2000s when I saw the episode of Jericho where the mayor goes "You never know when you're gonna need a tank". I started saving up in 2007 and was beset several times by the stupidity of my family in saving money (I loaned my brother almost 15k and I didnt see it all back until the mid/late 2010s). The market was cheap back then. New stuff was all over Europe and the dollar was king. I bought my first soviet era armored vehicle in 2011 as a graduation and professional job present for myself after having worked as a bus boy in college and scrubbed dishes during my off hours to make money (Oh, and I saved every penny when I was on active duty and drill). It was an ex-Iraqi model that came from the big guy up north (if you know you know) and was in bad shape. I worked on it for a couple years but because of my limited mechanic knowledge (I drove it once, it had a HOST of problems) I never was able to make the dream come true beyond simple ownership. In 2017 I test drove an absolutely stunning Czech BRDM from Intl Repo depot. It was in immaculate shape. I'd have 3. I was lining up transport when the seller went dark and stopped responding to emails and phone calls. WTF. Email me back and let me send you money. The war started and those vehicles were sent east to fight the Russians. I'm mad I didn't get them, but I understand why I didn't get them. I never said the T72 was the best. While I like the looks of Soviet T-64, T-72, T-80, T-90 tanks they look worse the closer you get.
At least for the T-72.nUgly welds, poor fitting, etc. Obviously that doesn’t hurt function but it’s ugly up close. |
