More like Biden and McCarthy counted the votes and know they can now raise the debt ceiling. Doesn’t matter what the result is on the budget. I bet a bit of horse trading went on with both their Parties. We are just observers, and have no say in the results. The big boys rule, little people are just watchers.

My bet is the Dems caved on the 2yr extension bit, so the GOP thinks they still have control over this next year, and we will go through this shit again. I know that was a sticking point.

This is true, the US is never paying this debt off unless the Dollar suffers from massive fricken inflation, at which point the Country is screwed. But, the Fed has raised rates, and the US is paying a shit ton a year to service the debt. I cannot remember if it is 8 or 15%, or somewhere in between, of the budget every year.

No part of this deal has had public hearings, or debate. This is 100% backroom, smoke and mirrors. A big part of the problem is we don't what it is.
