It's unfortunate that we don't have a more portable active denial system in situations like this. Seems like it would disperse crowds quickly with no injuries.

I have to wonder how hard it would be to defeat that ADS system. They brag about it's lack of penetration - seems like it could easily be shielded. If it is microwave - perhaps a cardboard shield with wet paper towels?

A second bombing there, in September 1984, killed 11 and injured 58. In September 1989, the Embassy closed and all American staff were evacuated, due to security threats.
