I don't believe in Kings and Queens and royal blood lines. The entire concept makes me sick and my ancestors come from England.
As for the Queen, I don't have much of an opinion of her good or bad. If she passes I hope it's peaceful. |

Sad news. Always a class act. I just learned that she has had jam sandwiches every day for decades with berries from her estate. That's a tradition I can support.

If the worse is true, my condolences to the British people.
I'm not big on monarchies, but she was a classy woman, and a symbol to all of our commonwealth brothers and sisters. |

View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: Martin McGuinness showed more class than you. Think about it. A terrorist. A murderer. Yet classier than you. On meeting Queen Elizabeth in 2012: "So, I said to myself, will this encounter assist the peace process and increase people's understanding of the journey that we all have to travel? I'm travelling on a journey to do this; I've suffered, my friends have suffered, my community has suffered at the hands of the British Army but Queen Elizabeth has suffered at the hands of the IRA also, and I think it was an important thing to do. I've been criticized for it by a minority within republicanism who didn't like it and didn't agree with what I'd done." Quoted: Margrethe is the last Princess of Iceland. When she dies, there will never be another one. View Quote I did not know that. I am going to have to do some research. Thanks. My FIL just loved her. The King liked to dress down, way down, and he and Margrethe would come out to the gardens and work alongside him. He had laid out a good deal of the landscaping, and most of it is still there. |

Kings, queens, princes, princesses. It all seems so silly to me this is still a thing.

Quoted: I don't get it. I thought the Royals were just window dressing with Parliament actually running the country. View Quote True to a degree, but it's still an important symbolic post. Queen Elizabeth embodied the spirit of the British people and was a beacon of class in a world that really needed an example like that. Royalty is obviously foreign to us Americans, but I think there's nothing wrong with respecting the tradition and the sense of history that go with it. God save the Queen. |

She seemed like a good woman that was born into a position that carried a lot of controversy. But the person that sat atop that throne was quality.
This makes me sad to hear. When a person that symbolic passes away, the vermin come out of the shadows to stake their claim. I hope that doesn't happen to them, but I feel it will. Hence, my sadness |

Tough old girl.
GB will not see her like again for a while… definitely not Charles. |

She was/is a class act. Her offspring? Not so much. Charles will go down the woke rabbit hole and complete the destruction of a once proud Kingdom.

I don't agree with the way England has ruled and loomed over its people but in reality she was/is a good soul.

Nothing but respect for the queen. I hope our friends in Great Britain don't undergo too much turmoil this death may cause.

I am not a royalist.
But I see the Queen as a genuinely good person. She is devoted to her country. In 2016, in an effort to promote the peace process, Martin McGuinness met with her. There was much speculation about whether she would shake his hand. But she did. And even remarked she was surprised by the fuss adding "It would be awkward not to". A classy lady and supremely diplomatic. And a wonderful sense of humour. At a meeting at Hillsborough Castle in Northern Ireland on Monday, Sinn Fein politician Martin McGuinness greeted the Queen by asking if she was well. Her reply? “Well, I’m still alive." A humerous reference to her being a target for the terrorists. McGuinness went on to say....... “I liked her courage in agreeing to meet me. I liked the engagements that I’ve had with her. There’s nothing I have seen in my engagements with her that this is someone I should dislike — I like her.” Even her sworn enemy liked her ! |

Not really anyone else alive today that has lived a life like the Queen.
All the events, world leaders, charity, the list is epic. At 96 and still be dedicated to her country and sense of duty right until the end. Without political affiliation. Amazing really. I swore my oath to her and will be sad when the announcement is made |
|
“Keeper of the Faith!”
Last one I’m afraid. Long live the Queen! |

A long rein over many decades with much change in the world. The more I read about her the less I like her and I use to be a monarchist and a staunch suppporter. I sincerely hope they pass the dufus of Wales and pick William as otherwise the monarchy is done.
