This. Watch empire again. Vader prevents fett from shooting Chewie because he didn't want 3po to get hit. Sounds crazy but its one of the subtle hints about vader coming back. Of course we never knew this until TPM came out. View Quote I highly doubt that is why. Shit I bet he didnt even think of Anakin building C3PO until years after the movie, not until he wrote that piece of garbage Ep 1. |

Watching the original trilogy in honor of the princess, started thinking. Are droids so forgettable that no one remembers them? Obi Wan didn't seem to remember R2D2 in A New Hope, even though he was around him prior to Anakin's turn. In Empire, when Han is frozen in carbonite, C3P0 is there on Chewbacca's back. Vader doesn't even recognize or acknowledge his creation. I know 3P0 wouldn't recognize Vader, but one would think Anakin would remember his protocol droid. View Quote Good point. Maybe he put it together from a parts kit, so might be plenty of goldenrods (C3PO) type droids out there. Since R2D2 was a maintenance droid he was churned out on an assembly line, just like cars, so one R2 would look just like another (blue type) |

I used to wonder why it was that such a long time ago, in a galaxy so far away, there existed creatures that appeared to be human! Where was planet Earth? Clearly, none of these people are familiar with its existence and yet they speak English and are familiar with earthly things... such as Falcons. It led me to a fork in the road. It made me wonder if perhaps these space traveling beings seeded Earth with their species and that's how we came to be. Or... If it's just a fucking movie and not to be thought on too closely. C-3PO did not know anything about Anakin Skywalker or Darth Vader or the twins because Captain Antilles was ordered by Senator Organa to, and I quote. " I'm placing these droids in your care. Treat them well. Clean them up. Have the Protocol Droid's mind wiped." Now ask yourself why wasn't R2's memory wiped as well? View Quote I remembered reading something about R2-D2 somehow being connected to the Whills. So here it is http://io9.gizmodo.com/george-lucas-wild-theory-about-the-narrator-of-star-war-1772296162 So R2-D2 is the one telling the story, according to george lucas. And maybe driods do lie, and make themselves seem more important or brave. If droids lie, then maybe R2s memory was also wiped, and the little droid just made everything up in Episode 1-3 is made up, never occurred. Or at least highly embellished. |

Wel they seem to have forgooten about an 'ancient religion' that controlled everything and was massacared 30 years ago View Quote There were only 10,000 Jedi at the start of the Clone Wars in a galaxy spanning republic of billions of systems with trillions of sentient life forms. After the rise of the Empire and its anti-Jedi propaganda it would be pretty easy to convince most of the galaxy (who had never seen a Jedi first hand) that the Jedi, their powers, and their religion were bunk. The Rebel Alliance on the other hand still seemed to believe in the force and the Jedi. |
