I just literally got home and sat down to Arfcom. This is the first thread I clicked. Did I make it in on 1 for potential festivities?

Everybody just relax. Article says she'll be out tomorrow. Nothing can go wrong with a 80-something year old with pancreatic cancer and other ailments.

I believe she is a lot sicker than they are letting on. I would be willing to bet this hospitalization and the last are related to advanced, terminal cancer. I know my mother ended up in the hospital several times before finally passing from lymphoma. As the end nears, these complications requiring hospitalization happen increasingly frequently. But one of these times she goes in, she isn't coming out. I've noticed whenever the media reports on a Ginsburg hospitalization, they always push an optimistic spin. She'll be released "as soon as Sunday," or maybe not. But they have to word it that way.

Even if she kicked in tomorrow the dems would scream that Trump cannot seat another justice because of the impeachment inquiry, which means jack under the law. They would then be onto it is only fair to let the next POTUS fill the vacancy, and when that fails they will say there is no time to get someone through the confirmation hearings before the new year.

Even if Death collects her the republican quislings in the senate would block a vote while the sham impeachment circus is going on and probably doubly so for it being an election year.
These quislings would be Romney, Sasse, Collins, Murkowski, and likely Miss Lindsey. It would be better if she hangs on until after Trump’s hopefully re-election. |

Why? Well, they could have applied that same line of thinking by simply letting the public choose next November. But instead they went ahead and forced a sham impeachment inquiry and an eventual impeachment (we know it's coming). So fuck them. If they can do it, we should too. Like you said, there's absolutely nothing that legally prevents the President from nominating a Supreme Court justice while under impeachment investigation. Especially a fraudulent impeachment investigation.
