Well, it might very well be 100 million illegal immigrant votes.... they don't need anywhere near that many immigrants to do that.

If Trump could completely destroy the Republican brand that would be a victory in itself, even if it were not his intention.

Well, it's nice to see what your priorities are.

I tend to agree.

"Vote for Republicans and a 12% less shitty America" isn't going to win elections.

Someday, Republicans will stop watching NPR and MSNBC, and start figuring out how to get the requisite electoral votes to win the Presidency.

The Republican brand can still win elections.  We control the entire Legislature.  We lost the last Presidential election to an incumbent, which is historically unsurprising, and lost the prior one because our President became toxic.

Shit... "You Suck and We Hate You." keeps H&K afloat.     It's time for the GOP to stop pandering to the FSA that's never going to fucking vote for them anyway.  They're like the "poorer" parent in a divorce, trying to buy the kid's love with a skateboard, when the ex has already promised the little punk a new car.

We won FL in 2000 by proverbial hair. Before that, 8 years of Clinton.

I'm a conservative, and I have NO FAITH in the RNC  brand, or their ability to run a candidate, or go to the merge with any Democrat on any substantive issue. The Republicans have consistently done nothing to stop Federal overreach in the IRS, they've not wanted to touch the immigration crisis, they've rolled on the whole trade issue, they've said nothing while the President allows ISIS to roll over the ME.

The problem is RNC voters.

Remember last time when bullshit candidate after bullshit candidate was leading the primary polls?  Entirely unserious, unelectable, unviable dweebs like Bachmann and Cain actually led the fucking polls!

And now we have Trump.  Who is entirely unserious, unelectable, and unviable, leading the polls.

If the RNC voters can't see that the serious candidates, the ones who want to run and win and not merely create/enhance their 'brand' are Bush/Rubio/Walker/Paul (I'm sure I'm forgetting one or two).  (I'm doubly sure someone's going to come along and bitch about one or all of those being included in my list.)

The problem is the electorate.  Ain't nothing fixing that.

That sounds like a lack of confidence in the Republican's ability to create effective change once in power, rather than a lack of confidence in their ability to win elections.  The former certainly hinders the latter, but they aren't the same thing.

But also consider the source of the linked article.  How about this little tid-bit, “The fact that he is rising in the polls has something to do with tapping into an angst and anger, especially on immigration, that the other candidates have been unwilling or unable to harness,” said Reed Galen, a Republican operative based in California."

OK on the surface but who calls pundits "Operatives"  That praseology is kind of telling about the political leanings of the author.

Let me ask you this....how many times have you and everyone else here blasted BHO as a "community organizer with zero experience necessary to run this country"?  But now....some douche bag billionaire with literally no experience is what we need to run the country?  BHO's experience looks like he is Dwight fucking Eisenhower compared to Trump....but hey, that's ok because he talked real tough on immigration for 30 seconds.

And the Gipper was an actor with zero experience.

Good leaders that can layout a plan and surround themselves with qualified people to carry it out. Zero never laid anything out. He has done everything in secret. He never answered questions, he always lies, deflects and runs on at the mouth when you ask him direct questions, even when a Yes or No would suffice. But that being said, he has picked qualified people to surround himself, unfortunately their mission is to dismantle the USA and they are doing a great job.

By zero experience, do you mean 8 years of Gubernatorial experience of the most populace state in the union with the largest economy?

Politicians are neither the problem nor the solution you would all make them out to be.  The American citizen is the problem.

Well, there is that...so let's make sure they are in the majority in the House and Senate. Then real change will come! We've gotten nothing from that, either. Too busy cheerleading the POTUS with fast track authority or forcing him to clean up the immigration mess or pressure the POTUS on his non-existent foreign policy.

The reality is that the RNC doesn't seem to get electoral politics for the POTUS, and can't seem to get a candidate pair that hold together the South and win the requisite swings.

When they are granted authority because the electorate finally has enough, they do fuck all in the name of bipartisanship, or something.

The Republican brand is shot. If Trump finally mercy kills it, then that's a win for conservatives, because the Republicans aren't fighting for conservativism in the US.

And the fact its a surprise to any political pundit that much of America is angry about immigration, and helplessness is turning to anger as the political class tells them "There is no crisis!"

Because the Republican establishment has done so fucking much for their base......

Let's see, gave Obama trade authority- Don't you remember how so many of them ran on that issue? Huh, I don't....wonder why that is? Gave Obama the funding for Obamacare without a real fight. Have allowed the EPA to redefine property rights for the entire American people through their recent Water Rule. Have allowed Americans neighborhoods to be redefined .....Done NOTHING on immigration. No IRS prosecutions.....ATF is running amok trying to ban ammo, creating a database of border purchases etc...not one fucking thing done there....

Gee, who could be upset with them with such a great fucking record of achievement? They haven't done a Goddamn thing. Nothing, since their historic victories and people are sick and fed the fuck up with their bullshit.

I'm done with the worthless, establishment, cock sucking corporate mouth pieces. Done.
