Figured out how the handguard will attach.
Attached File The nuts will be welded onto the barrel nut itself and bolts used to center and torque down ETA: gas tube channel will be cut once barrel gets back |

planned to do more but it's proving pretty damn hard to align this stuff without something to compare it to That being said here is the base of my handguard Attached File Plan is to extend, reinforce, and center everything up once my barrel gets back. Most likely going to open up the top half of the handguard to expose the gas system and finning |

Ok so I did a little work on my handguard today (opened up the top and extended it to full length) but not really anything worth showing off. The build is at the point to where there really isn't much I can do without having everything on hand. So in the meantime I'm going to start engraving everyone's names who contributed parts.
So far I have @BURN - upper parts @GilenusX207 - ring sight @smokie - FSP @BillythePoet - buffer spring and buffer @Flawless_Flogic - FS spring, detent, and I believe muzzle device AM I MISSING ANYONE ELSE?? I also want to do an honorable mention to @backbencher for getting this ball rolling so you too will be included 
Again, I greatly appreciate everyone's input so far

Again, I greatly appreciate everyone's input so far I picked up a used Lincoln 255c (220v) and now I can get nice flatter laying beads on everything from the thin stuff up to 1/2" and I have used it on up to 5/8" steel in some cases. Awesome project OP! Now you got me thinking, I have plenty of scrap around the farm at all times for sure!

Oh and slight update, I'm scrapping the filter core handguard idea.....Thinking just like 5 or 6 12" rods and some paki tape E-mag has graciously donated. Slimmer and wayyyyyy stronger |

Engravings so far. I attempted to do them the good ol way with a knife but after nearly stabbing myself (almost ER level bad) I gave up on that did my best to keep the knife style though. For Billy and BURN I put them in their respective areas of donation (will deepen when I get the proper stuff or just gouge it more ). Gilenus and smokie will get done once I get their respective parts get in. And lafmedic, I kinda fucked up yours but it's not that bad once I get the penciling gone it'll clear up more. Flawless got his the biggest just because I thought it was perfect for a cheeky buttstroke
